It appears fixed in the mainline kernel and I saw talk of it being fixed in 5.8. Is this worth filing a bug report or will 5.8 be available soonish for 20.04? [18:42] if you can't wait for a backport there is kernel-ppa/mainline or you could switch to groovy. I wouldn't know if a backport is planned. [18:44] tjaalton: thank you, i filed a new bug #1902563 [18:44] bug 1902563 in gnome-shell (Ubuntu) "Regression bug on hotplug-sniffer" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1902563 [18:48] sixwheeledbeast: I was more asking if submitting a bug report would be valuable to the development team. It sounds like it'd like just waste time since the issue should be fixed in the next HWE kernel. [18:49] I wouldn't know for sure but I'd probably agree. [18:50] thanks [18:52] xandey: i would reccomend asking the volunteers at #ubuntu first, you never know they know an existing bug already [18:53] ok thanks. I'll try that. I wasn't able to find a bug although I did find a few questions on the forum and answers pages
