jasonosubluCurrent configuration for the input method:01:24
jasonosublu * Active configuration: missing (normally missing)01:24
jasonosublu * Normal automatic choice: ibus (normally ibus or fcitx or uim)01:24
jasonosubluI tried to open the input settings and this appeared. Could you help me understand what I should do? Thank you.01:24
jasonosubluIt says /.xinputrc as missing.01:24
wxlwhich lubuntu version?01:24
jasonosublu20.04 LST01:25
wxldon't use ibus. we ship fcitx01:25
wxlif you have multiple input methods, it's just going to make a mess that will be incredibly difficult to unravel01:25
jasonosubluthank you, I was trying to get scrooling working on my magic mouse 2 and then those messages appeared01:26
wxli hope you know those are unrelated01:27
wxlhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Input_method01:27
jasonosubluIt appeared whe I tried to get into input settings to chage the scrooling setting for the mouse01:28
wxltl;dr if you're not planning on using a language different than your keyboard, don't mess with it at all01:28
wxlin this case "input settings" does not refer to "input devices"01:28
wxlPreferences > LXQt Settings > Keyboard and Mouse01:28
wxlthat's what you want01:28
jasonosubluInput method, sorry01:28
wxlif you actually DO want to change your input method, then go and change the configuration to fcitx and then you'll have to install whatever fcitx packages you need for the particular language you want to use01:29
wxlwell, language and input method01:29
wxlsince each language can have multiple input methods01:30
wxlnone of this is relevant if you're trying to mess with your mouse01:30
jasonosubluscrolling still doesn't work01:30
jasonosubluthak you for reminding me whow to get to the mouse settings in the GUI01:31
wxlalso looks like the magic mouse 2 may not actually be well supported but don't ask me https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/610854/magic-mouse-2-on-ubuntu-20-0401:32
jasonosubluI saw a video on YouTube where someone was using a magic mouse scrolling with Lubuntu01:36
