jasontvbOk, I think I have scrolling on the mouse now, but it's weird. To scroll I have to hold the mouse right click button and then move the entire mouse. Is this supposed to happen?00:44
krytenPretty sure your mouse is broken.. >_>00:46
jasontvbsome people suggested selecting two-finger in the touchpad settings, however, that option is greyed out so I can't select it00:46
jasontvbOn other devices and in Windows 10 the touch-surface mouse works normal00:47
jasontvbHowever, in Lubuntu 20.04 LTS I can't seem to get it to work the same way for scrolling00:48
jasontvbAny suggestions would be much appreciated. I've been trying to get this to work for weeks.00:55

vierlalaHi, I installed lubuntu 20.04 (previous 16.04), but I can't seem to get wifi working. There's no icon were I can select networks and when I go to the session configurator, there's an errorkinda icon next to network (see image). When I run nm-applet in the terminal, nothing happens.17:23

vierlalaHow do I get wifi working? I want that list with networks, when you click on the icon17:24

vierlalakryten the computers icon doesn't do anything, is just a networkmonitor17:30
lubot<matkoniecz> (Photo, 203x455) https://i.imgur.com/oNd0xk9.jpg Any idea how can I modify start menu17:30
krytenAha, and here I thought it'd give a menu..17:30
lubot<matkoniecz> I want to remove "Internet" entry. In LXDE `menulibre` was capable of doing this, but not anymore.17:31
krytenvierlala: Fwiw, I don't think nm-applet is installed in current Lubuntu by default anymore, but nm-tray is.17:32
lubot<kc2bez> @vierlala [<vierlala> kryten the computers icon doesn't do anything, is just a networkmonit …], Actually it is nm-tray icon. Use the right click menu on the icon. More information is on our manual. https://manual.lubuntu.me/stable/3/3.1/3.1.5/nm-tray.html?highlight=network17:32
lubot<kc2bez> @kryten [<kryten> vierlala: Fwiw, I don't think nm-applet is installed in current Lubuntu …], The entire category?18:11
lubot<kc2bez> Sorry replied to the wrong message.18:12
lubot<kc2bez> @matkoniecz You want to remove the entire category?18:13

vierlalahi everyone, my wifi problem is still not solved so here I am again. So far I figured nm-tray is the go-to icon for wifi, but it seems I don't the right window when right-clicking on it. I get this https://imgur.com/a/6RIvc5g instead of this https://manual.lubuntu.me/stable/_images/nm-tray-context.png and when I click on 'netwerkmonitor instellen',19:00
vierlalaI only get this window: https://i.imgur.com/bpWQBp2.jpg Left click doesnt do anything. How do I fix this, so I can connect with wifi?19:00
lubot<kc2bez> @vierlala [<vierlala> hi everyone, my wifi problem is still not solved so here I am again. …], Does one of those indicate edit connection? If so, try that.19:08

krytarikvierlala: It seems you got a different network panel applet loaded than the default one - try running "nm-tray" from the command line and see what it gives.19:43
lubot<matkoniecz> @kc2bez [@matkoniecz You want to remove the entire category?], Yes (though removal of some items from category to empty it would be also an useful workaround)19:44
vierlalakrytarik doesn't change anything19:44
vierlalahttps://i.imgur.com/IfrNRuk.jpg I also still don' t get why there's an exclamation mark at network in the autostart section19:48
krytarikWell, there isn't one at nm-tray there, anyway.19:50
vierlalayep that's true, but nm-tray isn't working like it should19:51
krytarikAnd you don't get any error messages on running it?19:52
vierlalanope19:52
vierlalaI dunnow if it's running, because I can't do anything with the icon. But wired internet does work19:53

krytarikvierlala: Was the icon also missing in the Live session of the installer before you installed?  Or if unsure, try that.20:01
rghvierlala , maybe you need firmware ?20:02

vierlalamaybe that firmware thingy is the key... but I have no idea how to fix it20:08
rghsudo apt install linux-firmware21:01
rghreboot21:01
rghworth a try anyway21:01
vierlalaI manually added my home wifi in advanced network configuration and it works. So it's not a wifi/driver/firmware problem. It still is a nm-tray icon problem.21:05
rghoh well21:07
rghit's something :-)21:07
rghas I am supposed to get up at 03:30 , I'm going to bed ;-)21:08
