=== brainwash_ is now known as brainwash [04:42] How do I install my HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 to print and scan? [04:47] Hold on, I might have something that can help you. I'm trying to find it. Maybe it can help. [04:50] I have some notes on this that may help you. [04:50] But it's been a long time so I don't know how well I can apply this, but you're essentially creating a printer that you're associating to the actual device. [04:51] Thanks, h311ow, whatever help I can get [04:52] Anyways, you need to know where the printer is located on your system and its interface [04:53] If it's physically connected, I think it uses parallel, and over network it's socket [04:54] So, start with creating the printer: lpadmin -p [printer name] -E -v parallel:/dev/lp0 [04:55] The printer name is just its friendly name. [04:57] You can also check /etc/cups/psrinters.conf for your printer definition [04:58] Oh... guess I wasn't helpful === brainwash_ is now known as brainwash [16:34] hm, anybody here with a good idea on [16:34] ups [16:34] anybody here with a good proposal for a calendar? I am right now using orage, but its bugs are getting quite annoying and I heard it will be removed in the future? [16:35] Just something small for the task bar. Doesn't even need synchronisation, for that I can use vdirsyncer [16:36] gnrp, calendar for what purpose? [16:47] gnrp, i use osmo as diary [17:29] diogenes_: Just for showing and editing things, and interfacing with other programs via ical [17:30] coconut: That actually looks like exactly what I want? [17:32] gnrp, i have no clue but it is a calendar with a lot of space for a diary(at least for me) === k3yp- is now known as k3yp [19:34] Got a message about a system problem on boot today. Google told me to look at /var/crash and it says lightDM gtk greeter crashed, but I was able to login normally today so I'm confused. [19:34] File created yesterday, it says. [19:35] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm-gtk-greeter/+bug/1890394?comments=all [19:35] Launchpad bug 1890394 in lightdm-gtk-greeter (Ubuntu) "Lightdm-gtk-greeter coredump during boot with recent systemd versions" [High,Fix released] [19:37] Ahh thanks. Is the fix available already? [19:37] apparently it says fix released. have you tried doing an update ? [19:37] Will do that now. [19:37] i had the same problem, but i installed the fix from the "proposed" channel before it was officially released [19:38] Looks like I got updates to systemd and stuff now. [19:38] specifically you need lightdm-gtk-greeter 2.0.6-0ubuntu2 [19:39] I already installed some updates yesterday too. === k3yp- is now known as k3yp [19:40] OK all up to date now. Thanks. :)
