[09:52] hello, is launchpad service having a sad day? [09:54] I was trying to retry some nodejs sadness on s390x, tonight I bootstrapped successfully (again) node-webpack, and node-schema-utils has something that needs a retry... [09:54] but I get ENOPERMISSION [09:56] [09:56] On 2020-11-20, 13 hours from now, your membership [09:56] in the Ubuntu Core Development Team (ubuntu-core-dev) Launchpad team is due to expire. [09:56] [09:56] damn, it was into SPAM folder [09:57] do we have a process to recover quickly stupid user not getting emails? [09:59] btw 13 hours are not that much time to notice something bad like this... :/ [10:31] LocutusOfBorg: We send emails for a week beforehand, once a day or so [10:32] LocutusOfBorg: You'll need to ask the DMB [10:32] (they may have a process, I don't know) [10:32] LocutusOfBorg: Also you weren't going to get far retrying stuff on s390x at the moment anyway ... [10:46] cjwatson, all the emails were into spam, I checked and found them :/ [10:47] not sure why since one year or so, each email from launchpad goes into spam folder [10:47] * LocutusOfBorg suspects that all the build failures triggered some anti spam from yahoo [10:47] marking as not spam never helped === cjwatson changed the topic of #launchpad to: arm*/powerpc/ppc64el/s390x builders down for hardware move | Help contact: twom (09:00-18:00 UTC Mon-Fri) | Launchpad is an open source project: https://dev.launchpad.net/ | This channel is logged: http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/ | User Guide: https://help.launchpad.net/ | Support and spam reporting: https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad [12:49] using yahoo as an email host never helped either. [14:09] tomreyn, true story, you know when you are young, and gmail doesn't even exist yet, you choose yahoo, and then you don't want to have two emails and you end up still using it after 20 years or so... [14:11] i can see how an e-mail forwarding (old host) or fetching (new host) service can facilitate migration there. [15:35] tomreyn, unfortunately I use lots of filters in yahoo, and directories where each email is classified and goes into... I never found on gmail something similar, am I wrong? [15:35] in any case forwarding from yahoo to gmail, will loose spam emails I guess [15:44] I have found it bizarrely difficult to figure out how to do that kind of filtering in gmail. [16:35] I don't care about "labels" I care about "folders" :) [17:45] I had not mentioned "gmail", had I? :) [17:50] i'm not familiar with this website, but would trust at least some of those providers listed here https://restoreprivacy.com/email/secure/ [19:29] Hah, I think I just figured out a PPA build recipe problem that's been driving me nuts. The install script won't overwrite old symlinks, I knew that. But I wasn't considering that the install script was running *twice* in this package build. Once for the stuff in the original ubuntu package, and a second time for the updated upstream stuff. [22:38] LocutusOfBorg: recently, not only some email from lp was going to spam, but my gmail was rejecting them with error codes outright. thus i had to switch my email in launchpad to something else. [22:38] because i was not receiving AA reject emails for example =(
