jameshseb128: just finishing it off.  Got a few of my old PRs merged this week.09:10
seb128jamesh, \o/09:10
seb128how close are we from a working dbus activation? 09:10
jameshIn particular https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/pull/894309:10
seb128great09:10
seb128so it should be working if you turn in the flag?09:11
seb128on09:11
jameshcode's in master now, but gated behind some experimental flags.09:11
jameshyes09:11
seb128great :)09:11
seb128oSoMoN, do we have a process to be able to distro patch changes in firefox? are we supposed to ask them first?09:14
oSoMoNjamesh, congrats on your perseverance!09:14
oSoMoNseb128, there's no formal process09:15
jameshoSoMoN: just snuck in two weeks before the original PR's second birthday.09:16
seb128oSoMoN, I wonder if we could include the patch from https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D95171 since it's trivial, or at least use our contacts with them to tell them we want it, maybe that would be enough of a nudge to get a review09:16
oSoMoNseb128, right, I have it on my list to try to get upstream feedback, and I wouldn't be opposed to distro-patching if we didn't get any09:17
seb128oSoMoN, thanks, I'm just a bit disappointed I guess, I hoped firefox reviews were happening on regular basis, at least for easy changes09:25
oSoMoNseb128, I've pinged one of my contacts at mozilla, let's see what they say09:26
seb128oSoMoN, thanks09:27
marcustomlinsoncongrats jamesh09:40

seb128http://reqorts.qa.ubuntu.com/reports/rls-mgr/rls-ff-incoming-bug-tasks.html14:33
seb128k, just noise that needs untagging there14:33
seb128http://reqorts.qa.ubuntu.com/reports/rls-mgr/rls-ff-tracking-bug-tasks.html14:33
seb128bug #190160914:33
ubot5bug 1901609 in signon (Ubuntu Hirsute) "signond causes qprocess crash" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/190160914:33
seb128that's on our report because we used that in unity time14:34
seb128that's a kde issue it seems14:34
seb128-1 for us to take on that one since it doesn't impact our desktop14:34
luna_but try to notify KDE Neon or Kubuntu developers about it?14:35
seb128yes, also seems like there is a suggested fix, I'm going to subscribe sponsors14:35
seb128-1 from me, other opinions?14:36
hellsworthi would say -1 unless it causes a crash increase in errors.u.c 14:36
seb128RikMills, ^ is that one you could handle perhaps?14:37
hellsworthlike a large increase. enough to warrant attention14:37
seb128doesn't seem so14:37
seb128k, let's decline for us and move on14:37
luna_yeah try to give it to RikMills and jriddel maybe and the people that does KDE based things14:37
seb128that's it for focal14:38
seb128#topic rls-gg-bug14:38
=== meetingology changed the topic of #ubuntu-desktop to: Home of the Desktop Team, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTeam | For help or questions, try #ubuntu | Work (read-only for non-developers): https://trello.com/b/mxaCZTVc | Desktop Team Weekly Meeting - 2020-11-24 | Current topic: rls-gg-bug
seb128the one there is assigned and fix commited upstream so needs untagging14:38
seb128http://reqorts.qa.ubuntu.com/reports/rls-mgr/rls-gg-tracking-bug-tasks.html14:38
seb128bluez on is incomplete and not for us14:39
seb128signon we just discussed14:39
seb128bug #190357414:39
ubot5bug 1903574 in appstream (Ubuntu Groovy) "isenkram-lookup crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance_cast()" [Medium,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/190357414:39
seb128Gunnar cares about it but I'm -1 for our team14:39
seb128isenkram-lookup isn't something really used14:40
RikMillsseb128: neon devs have already pinged me about signod. I will try to get to it this week14:40
seb128and it seems to be a bug in gobject-introspection and being discussed14:40
RikMills*signond14:40
oSoMoNit'd be good to know whether there are other more common ways to trigger this crash14:40
seb128RikMills, can I assign it to you? it's showing on our report because it's targetted and unassigned14:40
RikMillsfeel free14:40
seb128RikMills, thx14:40
seb128the patch seems trivial, removing a compiler flag from the build system14:41
luna_i have never even heard isenkram but it seems like the Upstream developers is working on it: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gobject-introspection/-/issues/30514:41
seb128let's skip until we get more details, it seems worked on anyway14:42
seb128that's it for G14:42
seb128#topic rls-hh-bug14:42
=== meetingology changed the topic of #ubuntu-desktop to: Home of the Desktop Team, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTeam | For help or questions, try #ubuntu | Work (read-only for non-developers): https://trello.com/b/mxaCZTVc | Desktop Team Weekly Meeting - 2020-11-24 | Current topic: rls-hh-bug

seb128bug #178526214:42
ubot5bug 1785262 in libreoffice (Ubuntu) "arm64 autopkgtests are flaky" [Medium,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/178526214:42
seb128L_aney tagged this one14:42
hellsworthjust assigned myself14:42
seb128it has an impact on infra and I think we should fix but I'm -1 on rls14:42
seb128it's not impacting users and not an ubuntu release target issue14:43
seb128hellsworth, thanks14:43
seb128do people think it needs to be targetted or not?14:43
hellsworthi pointed r_icotz too to get his opinion. i don't think it needs to be targeted14:43
seb128thx14:43
hellsworthwell but it should be fixed by april though just because that's a long time14:44
hellsworthso maybe we should target it..14:44
oSoMoNno need for targetting indeed14:44
luna_it depends on how many people use libreoffice on ARM64 on Raspberry Pis, Banana Boards, Beagleboards and all that they are called i guess, but as long as its stable and works for when a new image is released14:44
seb128yeah, it's more an infrastructure issue14:45
hellsworthi vote -1 for targeting and will work on it anyways14:45
seb128the tests are slow and eat resources14:45
seb128seems reasonable, I've tagged notfixing wiht a comment14:45
seb128http://reqorts.qa.ubuntu.com/reports/rls-mgr/rls-hh-tracking-bug-tasks.html14:46
seb128the signond one14:46
hellsworththanks14:46

hellsworththanks luna_ :)14:46

seb128depends of when people are off14:49

seb128but we will probably at least skip the 29th14:49

MirvTrevinho/others: there's a timing/versionnr/sruprocess/LP hitch in that mutter in groovy is not migrating - pending-sru shows one bug not being verified, but the #1878293 claims it's fix released in groovy - it's released in hirsute with the same version number, but that version number is only in proposed in groovy - and of course should be 1ubuntu1.1 instead of ubuntu219:17
MirvI'm also tired out, but just pointing it out since people are probably waiting for chromium to work under wayland (from #1897224 fix also included in it)19:18
MirvI mean too tired for brain to function properly but less-than-accurately describing the problem still :) maybe just verification-done away, if it's the same binary it can probably live in both releases with same version number19:20
TrevinhoMirv: hey, let me check20:05
TrevinhoMirv: so, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xterm/+bug/1878293 needs verification20:05
ubot5Ubuntu bug 1878293 in mutter (Ubuntu Groovy) "xterm resize is wonky" [Undecided,Fix committed]20:05
TrevinhoMirv: see https://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/pending-sru.html20:06
Trevinhoif you verify that bug being fixed, you can help move forward :)20:06
