[18:21] Hey guys, running KUbuntu 20.04.1 x64 with the nVidia 455 driver [18:22] When I turn off my monitors the sound from my soundcard gets flakey [18:22] I'm not sure how else to explain it, it cuts in and out for about a minute or so while it seems like it's searching for a device [18:22] I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting it [18:23] I do notice that the audio over the DP connections keeps getting re-enabled [18:24] I think it's called TU106 or something like that [18:33] Oh, the audio I'm using is the integrated audio on the Asus Prime z390-A [19:37] is kubuntu secure and safe? [19:49] I have a strange issue. I am using Kubuntu 20.04 LTS on a Thinkpad Carbon X1 Gen 8 laptop. All of my function keys to set volume, screen brightness, etc. periodically stop working and I have to restart Plasma for them to work again. I have gone to configure global shortcuts, and it still recognizes I am pressing the volume down button for example, but it gives no feedback. I've tried with and without Fn and FnLock (the buttons are shared [19:49] with F1-F12 and special functions using the Fn key). The keys still work as the function keys but not for any of the special actions until restarting. [20:01] xev recognizes the keypress correctly too. e.g., for mute key I get this, but still no sound action: [20:01] KeyRelease event, serial 40, synthetic NO, window 0x4e00001, [20:01] root 0x5d3, subw 0x0, time 62196865, (-163,491), root:(797,532), [20:01] state 0x0, keycode 121 (keysym 0x1008ff12, XF86AudioMute), same_screen YES, [20:01] XLookupString gives 0 bytes: [20:01] XFilterEvent returns: False [20:01] Hi! [20:01] I'm very new to IRC [20:56] shift+c doesn't write a capital c, other keys work fine except v. any idea why is that? === samfisher is now known as pastoralbreeze === gage is now known as zetagabriels
