[09:00] Having some issues with Ubuntu Studio Controls after updating to Ubuntu 20.10 and the transition to Studio Controls [09:01] I use the Studio Controls to use my Audioquest Dragonfly for high bitrate audio [09:01] When I turn on Jack, no audio outputs via the Dragonfly (Used to work before updating) [09:07] currently trying to install all the audio stuff for Ubuntu Studio to troubleshoot [09:08] from ubuntu studio installer*** [09:25] I am using an AmD Ryzen System [09:26] * JJ_4884[m] uploaded an image: image.png (47KiB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/linuxdelta.com/ANgkfFgKcwhLtkMhmxRrgqoX/image.png > [09:27] * JJ_4884[m] uploaded an image: image.png (68KiB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/linuxdelta.com/xWpPoYXFcZmZAKDAmbSoTmjE/image.png > [09:27] * JJ_4884[m] uploaded an image: image.png (77KiB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/linuxdelta.com/dTZzfWgZrSjYiCamJptxwhdY/image.png > [09:28] * JJ_4884[m] uploaded an image: image.png (77KiB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/linuxdelta.com/qEWCbYrXSgVjksIoYTOvClCy/image.png > [09:28] * JJ_4884[m] uploaded an image: image.png (71KiB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/linuxdelta.com/uQDtQgqPlIRfUMBWFOzoWqWp/image.png > [09:29] Any setting look wonky? [09:30] Hello JJ_4884 , thanks for the screenshots and thorough explanation of your issue. [09:30] I use Studio Tools only for interfacing with my Audioquest Dragonfly [09:31] I am not an audio editor. [09:32] Most of the tools that install with the Ubuntu Studio Tools installer are unecessary in my case [09:34] * JJ_4884[m] uploaded an image: image.png (21KiB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/linuxdelta.com/cuYHYmUwdRPinLDEIrowECIb/image.png > [09:35] * JJ_4884[m] uploaded an image: image.png (41KiB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/linuxdelta.com/wrwGITHdZanrBSEmHcyCHkDh/image.png > [09:36] Yes I understand. I think we are in a similar spot. Since this was an upgrade, did you try to remove ubuntu studio installer, remove all you configurations, reboot, then reinstall? [09:36] I believe autojack configs are in your home folder under .config/autojack [09:37] Also make sure you have no ubunru studio backports PPAs or unsupported PPAs related to audio at this point just to be sure. [09:38] no ubuntu studio backports ppa installed [09:43] if you open your ~/.config/autojack/autojackrc [09:43] * MauroGaspari[m] sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/VHRpCmtnoojJRpIlVsOGiNHZ/message.txt > [09:47] * Also make sure you have no ubuntu studio backports PPAs or unsupported PPAs related to audio at this point just to be sure. [18:11] JJ_4884[m]: you may need to remove the studio-controls config file to make sure any differences between the old version and the newer do not cause trouble. [18:14] JJ_4884[m]: also the best help in trouble shooting is to set log level in the system tweaks tab to "Extra" and then run autojack from a terminal and paste the output as well as pasting the contents of ~/.log/autojack.log. running studio-controls in a terminal and pasting the output of that may help as well. [18:15] JJ_4884[m]: note that by paste we mean use a paste bin or similar. [18:16] JJ_4884[m]: or pipe the result into pastebinit, eg: cat ~/.log/autojack.log |pastebinit [18:17] JJ_4884[m]: controls does try to catch any config values that have changed from version to version.. but it is not perfect.
