jibel | morning marcustomlinson | 08:31 |
didrocks | hey marcustomlinson | 08:33 |
Fudge | evening guys | 08:48 |
seb128 | hey oSoMoN, didrocks, marcustomlinson, how are you? | 08:48 |
Fudge | if anyone has a min this is very simple but im missing a step for packaging i cant remember, im not very good at it. im just branding base-files, so have made the local changes, im already setup with ppa and my ssh key, gpg key is all up there has been for years. I use debchange dch -i -r and pop the version number on for our branding, then try debuild -S and it fails. it never used to last time i | 08:51 |
Fudge | packaged few years back, if i use debuild -d -us -uc it works then debsign -kmy-email that works too, but i want debuild -S to work. What am I missing? | 08:51 |
didrocks | seb128: still having water issues at home, but I’m ok, thanks. And you? | 08:51 |
oSoMoN | good morning marcustomlinson, jibel, seb128 | 09:01 |
oSoMoN | seb128, I'm good, thanks, how are you? | 09:01 |
Laney | \o | 09:04 |
jibel | salut oSoMoN | 09:05 |
oSoMoN | hey Laney | 09:05 |
didrocks | hey Laney | 09:05 |
Fudge | hey Laney been a long time | 09:06 |
marcustomlinson | hey Laney | 09:07 |
marcustomlinson | seb128: bit sick, very tired :/ you? | 09:08 |
duflu | Hi Laney | 09:17 |
Laney | hey oSoMoN didrocks Fudge marcustomlinson duflu | 09:18 |
Laney | Fudge: see the debsign manpage, you probably want DEBSIGN_KEYID | 09:18 |
duflu | marcustomlinson, was it you attacking the ubiquity backlog? :) | 09:18 |
marcustomlinson | duflu: not recently. have I rubbed off on somebody then :) | 09:23 |
duflu | marcustomlinson, yeah | 09:23 |
duflu | It went off the chart, literally. So I've been meaning to claw it back down | 09:24 |
Laney | tjaalton: are you on the ubuntu image build failures? https://launchpadlibrarian.net/510173985/buildlog_ubuntu_focal_amd64_ubuntu_BUILDING.txt.gz | 09:25 |
Laney | does that just need promoting or what? | 09:25 |
tjaalton | looking | 09:28 |
tjaalton | oh focal, yes | 09:28 |
tjaalton | needs promotion (llvm-11 | 09:29 |
tjaalton | ) | 09:29 |
ackk | oSoMoN, hi, is there a chromium build somewhere with native wayland support? | 09:38 |
oSoMoN | ackk, I'm afraid not | 09:38 |
ackk | sigh | 09:39 |
ackk | oSoMoN, what is missing, out of curiosity? if I run the snap as "chromium --enable-features=UseOzonePlatform --ozone-platform=wayland" it errors out, but it seems support is there somehow? | 09:40 |
duflu | Oh that's interesting. Sounds like it's there but maybe just a snap confinement problem? | 09:45 |
oSoMoN | ackk, duflu: this is being tracked by bug #1897454, but tbh I haven't really looked into it yet | 09:57 |
ubot5 | bug 1897454 in chromium-browser (Ubuntu) "[snap] Chromium dev cuts off Wayland display" [Medium,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1897454 | 09:57 |
oSoMoN | help welcome :) | 09:57 |
duflu | Still, that's more progress than I expected :) | 09:59 |
ackk | FWIW this is with snap from stable channel | 10:03 |
ackk | what's the best way to check whether an app is running natively on wayland? | 10:10 |
ackk | it seems the snap is missing libGLESv2.so.2 | 10:11 |
ackk | oSoMoN, duflu added a comment on that bug | 10:17 |
duflu | That file comes from your graphics driver, which for most people is part of Mesa | 10:18 |
ackk | duflu, you mean it should be accessible via plugs? | 10:33 |
duflu | I don't know. And actually there's a new general abstraction for that stuff called libglvnd | 10:34 |
ackk | duflu, still, those libs need to be available for the snap to work | 10:45 |
ackk | FTR I just tried chrome, it does run natively on wayland now | 10:52 |
duflu | Woo | 10:59 |
duflu | Sounds exciting, but also EOD. Good night | 11:00 |

Laney | see if it all works 😬 | 17:04 |
Laney | you? | 17:04 |
seb128 | I'm alright, a bit tired, weekend was exhaustic. Also I got a covic 'nose' test since I felt like I've a small cold, that's not fun but at least result is negative! | 17:06 |
Laney | :( | 17:06 |
Laney | yeah those tests sound uncomfortable | 17:07 |
