[05:39] xubuntu 20.04 [10:16] joshua__: I don't think so [10:17] joshua__: what would be the benefit? [10:19] there is a feature request to implement an Empty Trash event sound, but that appears like an outdated gimmick with no real gain === TheMaster is now known as Unit193 [17:02] @brainwash: I think simple light sounds in a file explorer can make it feel a little more responsive === vlm_ is now known as vlm [18:18] Hello. since a few day it have a applet issue. I cannot change pavcontrol setting by clicking on speaker applet icon. No volume, or out setting appears anymore.. dont know why [18:20] sometimes I loose nm-applet too.. Its gone.. I have to kill it and restart nm-applet by terminal. [18:24] dreamon, do you have save session enabled? [18:25] no. I start none presettings. [18:27] today it started nm-applet an had strange outputs like this [18:27] (nm-applet:77625): libnotify-WARNING **: 08:57:32.115: Failed to connect to proxy [18:28] (nm-applet:77625): nm-applet-WARNING **: 08:57:57.139: Failed to show notification: Fehler beim Aufruf von StartServiceByName für org.freedesktop.Notifications: timeout [18:28] maybe helpful? [18:29] maybe a notify issue? [18:32] dreamon, pastebin: ps aux | grep -i notif [18:34] diogenes_, https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/Cz75V8WrT2/ [18:36] If I remember right I haven't see any kind of notifys since those days. [18:36] dreamon, is xfce4-notifyd installed? [18:37] diogenes_, yes. already installed [18:39] it's installed but not running. [18:39] diogenes_, xfce4-notifyd is not found. how do I start it? [18:39] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/xfce4/notifyd/xfce4-notifyd [18:41] Ok now I can roll mouse and modify volume and see notify message how it changes.. [18:42] It works again.. I had 2 speaker symbols. one works now correct [18:42] yep now everything should work [18:42] how can I autostart at boottime? [18:43] it's automatically started by DBUS. [18:43] it's a DBUS service [18:44] maybe it crashed? [18:45] look in .xsession-errors [18:54] https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/wBMyyYDzj7/ [19:34] diogenes_, think found the reason → https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Desktop_notifications#Troubleshooting [19:34] I installed some kde stuff.. theme dont know why anmore.. [19:35] ls /usr/share/dbus-1/services/ | grep Notif → org.gnome.Shell.Notifications.service → org.kde.plasma.Notifications.service → org.xfce.xfce4-notifyd.Notifications.service [19:35] dreamon, and those things must have pulled out some KDE dependencies that messed up your services. [19:37] which pakage for kde and gnome do I have to remove, to let in run only xfce? [19:59] diogenes_, Thank you.. It works again!!
