IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> I think the 21.04 installer is currently broken (fix expected shortly) so you may need to install 20.10 and do-release-upgrade -d03:33
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> Warning: converting to a release this early in the cycle is bound to have issues so only do this in a test environment such as VM or 2nd boot partition.03:34

diogenes_SharGen19, how old is the usb drive also how many times it's been written/rewritten/formatted, is around 50 times, then it might be cooked.13:49
IrcsomeBot<SharGen19> @diogenes_, idk its not my usb thats the issue13:50
IrcsomeBot<SharGen19> else i wont have care much13:50
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @diogenes_, 50 time only ?13:50
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> isn't it so less13:50
diogenes_ri5h46h, on some models it dies even sooner than that.13:51
IrcsomeBot<SharGen19> idk its company's usb stick13:51
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> I have a Kingston 8GB USB 2.0 from 2009 and I still make it bootable every week to try different distros13:51

IrcsomeBot<Habib KOUAMÉ> No, its either or13:53
IrcsomeBot<SharGen19> its just keep on loading and loanding13:53
diogenes_SharGen19, you could try some of these tools for a low level format and even firmware update, i managed to resurrect a usb drive this way but long time ago: https://flashboot.ru/files/13:53
IrcsomeBot<SharGen19> @ri5h46h, hcl, its company's usb stick for thier employs13:53
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @diogenes_, I can't believe this omg so less13:53
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @SharGen19, I think now it's life is over13:54
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @SharGen19, consider purchasing a new one13:54
diogenes_ri5h46h, original kingstones are good brands but you know, newest products last less than older ones, they used to make more durable products in the past.13:54
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @diogenes_, yes that's true13:55
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> I also have SanDisk 32 GB PenDrives, they are also performing well, I think they are also formatted more than 50 times13:56
IrcsomeBot<jBoi> Tech tip: use a microSD card reader with multiple microSD cards as pendrives. Saves money and you can use them for your phone and stuff13:57
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @jBoi, Who uses sd cards now-a-days in their phones, phones are coming with 64/128/512 GB storage already13:58
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @jBoi, btw, nice tip13:58
IrcsomeBot<SharGen19> mhm but sdcard are slow than 3.1 usb sticks13:59
IrcsomeBot<jBoi> Idk, some people have older phones, some take lots of photos or videos.13:59
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @SharGen19, yes right13:59
IrcsomeBot<jBoi> Yeah, I guess13:59
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @SharGen19, what are you planning to do now with your pendrive?14:00
IrcsomeBot<SharGen19> @ri5h46h, throw it away, its bullshit wasting time trying to fix, idk i just formated it and than was transfer some images and suddenly had an error14:01
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @SharGen19, hmm,14:03
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @SharGen19, Get a better, orignal one now 👍14:03
IrcsomeBot<SharGen19> i have an 3.1usb 64 gig usb which offer 100mbps14:04
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @SharGen19, 😎nic14:05
IrcsomeBot<smhk1379> I have a problem like yours with 2 of my usb sticks14:05
IrcsomeBot<smhk1379> @smhk1379, I nether can format them nor make a new partition table on them😕14:08
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @smhk1379, are they also showing as read only ?14:11
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> I also had same problem with one of my SanDisk Pen Drive but SanDisk support is awesome and they replaced it with a new one14:12
BluesKajpersonally I prefer gparted to the kpartitioner, the latter is buggy in my experience and indicates corrupted partitions when they are not14:12
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @BluesKaj, aa ! it's good that I haven't faced any issue with KDE Partition Manager till now14:14
IrcsomeBot<ri5h46h> @BluesKaj, will keep this mind :p14:14
IrcsomeBot<smhk1379> @ri5h46h, I should check them.14:43

IrcsomeBot<jBoi> Hi, so I've got a weird issue where when I try to change the wallpaper to most wallpaper plugins it just shows me a black background. I've also been experiencing some overall instability, with plasmashell sometimes "restarting" (desktop goes black, everything slowly comes back on). I've got an NVIDIA gtx960, and i've heard nvidia gpus don't play nice with linux. Anyone knows what to do?21:15
IrcsomeBot<jBoi> Also, with the wallpaper plugin weird glitch, when I uninstall the plugins they still appear in the dropdown, and one just returns back to being installed on reboot21:15
