ubptgbot<Pete N.> @rikmac [is there any news for Pixel 3a?, APN works, sees all local telephone suppliers, …], Hi Ricardo. I'm using a Pixel 3a XL. /Mint mobile SIM. Upon 1st install I was not getting incoming SMS messages.. so I re flashed my Pixel. Been working perfectly for the past few days.. I think I made the mistake and used different. Carrier sims02:31
ubptgboton first install (think I confused the system lol) .. google fi, verizon..  I flashed device, w/o SIM. After reinstall. I inserted mint mobile sim & power cycled pixel.   Interestingly enough.. prior to reflashing.. APN showed as mint mobile, after flash .. T-Mobile02:31

ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @KPETEH [For other 2 phones adb work normal but fot this its not], sound like an issue with the phone, what's its current os?02:35
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @Pete N. [<reply to media>], you can take a screenshot by pressing both volume keys fwiw02:37
ubptgbot<Sanath> When i was going through Bounty Source website today I found out that that there is UBports created there but it is unclaimed.I feel its better if the UBport core members can claim it. find find the link here : https://www.bountysource.com/teams/ubports/settings05:43
ubptgbot<Danfro> @Flohack @UniversalSuperBox ^^ something that needs to be done ❔05:46
ubptgbot<KPETEH> @Fuseteam [you can take a screenshot by pressing both volume keys fwiw], Yesterday installed android 10 but same thing happened with MIUI android 7.206:12
ubptgbot<KPETEH> Yesterday I installed android 10 but it was the same with MIUI android 7.1.206:14
ubptgbot<Flohack> @Danfro [@Flohack @UniversalSuperBox ^^ something that needs to be done ❔], No idea who did it I will ask07:52
ubptgbot<giuseppeal> I installed ubports on my Nexus 5. After I wanted to flash original ROM but after flashing I have my phone in  bootloop07:53

ubptgbot<giuseppeal> @xander2m [Bootlooping Android stock ROM?], Yes stock ROM, I had a lot of problems with lineageOs too, after various attempts (with TWRP wipes) I installed it08:09
ubptgbot<giuseppeal> I can flash ubports again, works perfectly but I can't flash stock ROM for some reason08:10
ubptgbot<xander2m> @giuseppeal [I can flash ubports again, works perfectly but I can't flash stock ROM for some …], I had some problems flashing stock. What worked for me was flashing twrp recovery and repairing data, then flashing original KitKat firmware then latest firmware. Now boots fine and then installed UT08:11

ubptgbot<XP5000> can any help me flash ubuntu touch on lenovo A6000+10:25
ubptgbot<ItsMeShouko> @XP5000 [can any help me flash ubuntu touch on lenovo A6000+], I don't think a port exists for that device10:32
ubptgbot<ItsMeShouko> In this case you will need to port it10:32
ubptgbot<XP5000> how10:33
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> do note porting can take up to a year10:34
ubptgbot<XP5000> Well can I use ports of other devices with same specs10:35
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> every device is unique so most work cannot be reused10:37
ubptgbot<Ozu> at the very least halium-boot has to be made10:37
ubptgbot<XP5000> Long story short there is no hope ?10:40
ubptgbot<Ozu> halium-boot is not that hard if you have working lineage 15 tree10:42
ubptgbot<Ozu> [Edit] halium-boot is not that hard if you have working lineage 16 tree10:42
ubptgbot<Ozu> then you can use gsi10:42
ubptgbot<XP5000> (Photo, 720x1280) https://irc.ubports.com/LmSgTsx9.png10:46
ubptgbot<XP5000> I'm using custom lineage 17 rom10:47
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @XP5000 [Long story short there is no hope ?], there is only hope if you're willing to put the time into porting it ;)11:03
ubptgbot<Danfro> ## Porting: getting started ## … http://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/porting/Intro.htmlhttp://docs.halium.org/en/latest/index.html … For questions join @halium or @UBports_porting11:04
ubptgbot<XP5000> @Fuseteam [there is only hope if you're willing to put the time into porting it ;)], Well this is nice opportunity to experiment 🙂11:06
ubptgbot<XP5000> @Danfro [## Porting: getting started ## … http://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/porting/Intro.h …], Thanks11:06
ubptgbot<Danfro> Have fun. 😊11:06
ubptgbot<Danfro> ... and success!11:06
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @XP5000 [Well this is nice opportunity to experiment 🙂], great! good luck!11:07
ubptgbot<Ozu> @Fuseteam [great! good luck!], can you help me with docs about making (or porting) device trees ?11:25
ubptgbot<jonny> @Ozu [can you help me with docs about making (or porting) device trees ?], Have a look here: http://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/porting/Intro.html11:26
ubptgbot<jonny> @Ozu [can you help me with docs about making (or porting) device trees ?], And @halium11:26
ubptgbot<Ozu> okay. thanks11:26
ubptgbot<Ozu> but I want to know about making device trees for a device with no develoment.. for say11:29
ubptgbot<jonny> Oh, you mean the company producing the device does not publish the device tree, but you want to reverse engineer it?11:31
ubptgbot<Ozu> yeah from with same chipset11:31
ubptgbot<Ozu> [Edit] yeah from devices with same chipset11:32
ubptgbot<jonny> I am not sure there really is documentation on that, because I imagine this is a very difficult and hit-and-miss process.11:34
ubptgbot<jonny> But if you want to understand how device trees work: https://elinux.org/Device_Tree_Reference11:34
ubptgbot<Ozu> Ooo..11:34
ubptgbot<Ozu> okay... thanks11:35
ubptgbot<jonny> But still people in @halium might have a better insight on that topic.11:35
ubptgbot<Ozu> all right. thanks for the help11:36
ubptgbot<giuseppeal> @xander2m [I had some problems flashing stock. What worked for me was flashing twrp recover …], Doesn't work for me11:59
ubptgbot<xander2m> @giuseppeal [Doesn't work for me], Is it on Android 6 and the 4 spinning things just stops then reboots?11:59
ubptgbot<giuseppeal> @xander2m [Is it on Android 6 and the 4 spinning things just stops then reboots?], Yes12:00
ubptgbot<xander2m> That's what happened to me last night.12:00
ubptgbot<giuseppeal> Now I installed UT again, it works12:00
ubptgbot<xander2m> I flashed twrp and advanced wipe repaired data and storage12:01
ubptgbot<xander2m> @giuseppeal [Now I installed UT again, it works], Well UT is better than old android 6.12:01
ubptgbot<giuseppeal> @xander2m [I flashed twrp and advanced wipe repaired data and storage], Done12:01
ubptgbot<just_carlod> @xander2m [Well UT is better than old android 6.], that's always true12:02
ubptgbot<xander2m> 😂👍12:02
ubptgbot<xander2m> I've been using it a lot with my SIM and it works a lot better than I hoped. Except for Telegram apps12:02
ubptgbot<giuseppeal> I'm trying Libertine containers for install desktop apps12:03
ubptgbot<giuseppeal> UT has very few apps available12:04
ubptgbot<just_carlod> @xander2m [I've been using it a lot with my SIM and it works a lot better than I hoped. Exc …], are you using teleports?12:04
ubptgbot<just_carlod> maybe try `mywebtelegram`12:04
ubptgbot<just_carlod> it's web app, but presonally I prefer it over teleports12:04
ubptgbot<xander2m> @just_carlod [maybe try mywebtelegram], I'll try that one12:04
ubptgbot<xander2m> @just_carlod [it's web app, but presonally I prefer it over teleports], Me too if it works.12:05
ubptgbot<just_carlod> [Edit] it's web app, but presonally I prefer it to teleports12:05
ubptgbot<xander2m> @giuseppeal [I'm trying Libertine containers for install desktop apps], I tried this via settings but the icon just span a lot. Does it work for you? Maybe I didn't wait long enough12:06
ubptgbot<xander2m> On mywebtelegram and this works well.12:07
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @xander2m [I tried this via settings but the icon just span a lot. Does it work for you? Ma …], did you keep your phone active? the libertine container takes quite long to set up the first time12:45
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> last time i tried it took me 3-ish hours iirc12:45
ubptgbot<xander2m> 3 ish hours?! Wow.12:45
ubptgbot<xander2m> Per app?12:45
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> no only the initial setup12:46
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> apps where smooth and quick12:46
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> [Edit] apps were smooth and quick12:46
ubptgbot<xander2m> I've been trying to install libreoffice-writer for almost 20 mins12:46
ubptgbot<just_carlod> @Fuseteam [last time i tried it took me 3-ish hours iirc], hmm, maybe that's why it didn't work for me12:46
ubptgbot<xander2m> And now it crashed saying no packages are installed.12:47
ubptgbot<just_carlod> I hope one day we wouldn't need to use libertine to run "normal" linux apps12:48
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @xander2m [I've been trying to install libreoffice-writer for almost 20 mins], but have you set up a libertine container?12:48
ubptgbot<xander2m> I thought so.12:48
ubptgbot<xander2m> How do I delete and start over? I tried and failed with terminal line12:48
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @just_carlod [I hope one day we wouldn't need to use libertine to run "normal" linux apps], the issue with "normal" linux apps is that the traditional installer just dumps their files in the rootfs; there is no way to determine where they are installed to which carries the risk of breaking the install. we have readonly rootfs to mitigate12:50
ubptgbot the latter risk. so to do it we would need to be able to install those apps in specific directory or location "often called "prefix installations"12:50
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @xander2m [I thought so.], you can run `libertine-container-manager list` iirc12:51
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> if you see a container want to start over you can do `llibertine-container-manager destroy -i <id-you-saw-with-list>`12:53
ubptgbot<Javacookies> @just_carlod [I hope one day we wouldn't need to use libertine to run "normal" linux apps], what I wish is for libertine to improve in terms of installation, integration and compatibility 😄13:01
ubptgbot<kriskuthu> Can we request any new device ?13:21
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> no we do not have a porting service13:24
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> porting requires up to a year of work and physical access to the device13:25
ubptgbot<WolfLink115> @Fuseteam [porting requires up to a year of work and physical access to the device], A year?13:53
ubptgbot<WolfLink115> @WolfLink115 [A year?], Oh pardon my dumbness, I forgot about the perfecting of the port...13:54
ubptgbot<Aga> Hi, today I can receive text messages however I cannot send any. Had anyone have such issue earlier?14:13
ubptgbot<Flohack> @Fuseteam [porting requires up to a year of work and physical access to the device], With Android 9 things get easier, we can speak of a few months now ;)14:27
ubptgbot<just_carlod> and it will be only faster and faster in the future14:30
ubptgbot<just_carlod> [Edit] and it will be only faster and faster in the future, I think14:30
ubptgbot<just_carlod> That's because we have bigger experience and there's more people who can help new porters14:34

ubptgbot<dohbee> @arunkumar413 [How to check memory usage on UT?], do you mean RAM or storage space?15:37
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @Flohack [With Android 9 things get easier, we can speak of a few months now ;)], really? cool! so 3 months? but we don't really have many of those in the intstaller yet do we?15:37

ubptgbot<just_carlod> @Fuseteam [really? cool! so 3 months? but we don't really have many of those in the intstal …], there's volla, jasmine_sprout, lavendar, pro1, sargo15:38
ubptgbot<NotKit> none of them is really perfect yet though15:39

ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @just_carlod [there's volla, jasmine_sprout, lavendar, pro1, sargo], ohw true 🤔15:39
ubptgbot<NotKit> Volla did involve lot of time, effort and money for example15:39
ubptgbot<dohbee> @arunkumar413 [RAM], then as answered previously, run `free -h` in the terminal or use `top` in terminal. there's no graphical resource usage monitor currently15:40
ubptgbot<arunkumar413> @dohbee [then as answered previously, run free -h in the terminal or use top in terminal. …], Thanks. I will try to work on it15:42
ubptgbot<Flohack> @Fuseteam [really? cool! so 3 months? but we don't really have many of those in the intstal …], They will come. I am working on Oneplus 5/5T, Pixel 3a is there, Pixel 2/2XL on my table, Pixel incoming. Other people doing the same.  … Still we need to fix generic Android 9 problems, LED, sensor, vibrator, Camera, Hotspot, just to name a fe16:04
ubptgbotw. Those features are not working well on Halium 9 and prevent us from releasing faster16:04
ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @Flohack [They will come. I am working on Oneplus 5/5T, Pixel 3a is there, Pixel 2/2XL on …], yup which is why i say "up to a year" 😆it can be faster but a lot still needs to be done hehe16:06
ubptgbot<NotKit> I would say that getting all the basic functionality working is relatively easy now, but polishing and fighting with all the unexpected random issues takes a lot of time after17:06
ubptgbot<Danfro> The 80:20 rule. You get 80% ofnthe workload done in 20% of the time. Tje remaining 20% of workload take up the other 80% of your workload. On a management course I have been teached: drop the last 20% of the workload. 🤓17:16

ubptgbot<Danfro> Yea. Reality doesn't allow this in most cases.17:17
ubptgbot<Danfro> But I learned not to waste too mich time on smaller issues. That is excactly why many ports work 95%.17:17

ubptgbot<Fuseteam> @sandysmart [Data piracy], anbox runs android in a light weight "virtual machine"* so that android applications can run in an android enviroment17:50

I tried to ignore it, because it seems like nothing's wrong by the error message, it just says what files were pushed to the phone. But after the installation it doesn19:23

ubptgbot<xander2m> @smirnaff [<reply to media>], Did you click the ADB box in settings when it says to allow pc access to phone? That's the problem I had with installation yesterday.19:32
ubptgbot<smirnaff> @xander2m [Did you click the ADB box in settings when it says to allow pc access to phone? …], where can I find it?19:33
ubptgbot<xander2m> So, clean install stock os. Click the seven time thing in settings to allow developer settings. Then on the terminal type "ADB devices" and click the box that pops up on your phone screen. By doing this it enabled my installation to work.19:34
