Looks like sddm-greeter crashed. Does this sound familiar to someone? Tried reinstalling X and sddm, but that doesn't do anything. Neither does clearing the sddm cache. [11:00] When I use startx from runlevel 3, there's no problem. This also points to the greeter. [11:08] fiet: 5.8 kernel installed? i heard that one gives a lot users different kind of issues [11:15] fiet, are there any clues in /var/crash/ (ie. details of packages that crashed). any details in journalctl of help? [11:16] fyi: my files in ~/.cache/sddm-greeter/qmlcache/ are all very old.. 21 months old so why did you think that would help? have you made changes recently? [11:25] Maik: I am running 5.4.0-59 [11:25] guiverc: The only change made was a regular upgrade of some packages, none of which were sddm [11:27] guiverc: I have crashfiles for greeter, but not anything that helps me in any way. [11:29] guiverc: https://termbin.com/753n [11:31] Hmm, I see that system-hostnamed.service is dead. I believe greeter relies on that. [16:43] Is there a fix a coming for the installer bug? [16:43] Where the default install doesn't create a swap file [16:43] Also where can i report bugs? [16:45] Is there a fix coming for the installer bug? [17:13] Greetings fellow Lubuntus! I am updating my Lubuntu 18.04 for the last time on my 15+ year old computer. I use it only as a backup server for some files I've gathered throughout the years (not really important ones, just a chance i might need them again). The CPU is a 1-core AMD Sempron 3000; 1,5 GB of RAM and a very old integrated GPU. Does anyone else have a computer like that laying around? :D === lubuntu is now known as Guest71075 [17:55] right now i write this using dell inspiron 1501 (amd tl-56). according to latest bios date 2007 year === james is now known as Guest63677 [19:33] How can I disable the Update Notifier? It has started to notify me to update multiple times a day (more than 5 times on Saturday).
