cpaelzer hi ubuntu-archive - Thanks to LocutusOfBorg rebuilds of python-mapnik, viking and libapache2-mod-tile https://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/transitions/html/auto-mapnik.html looks good now; There seem to be no dependencies left on libmapnik3.0, but the migration is held back on "old binaries left". Could one have a look to clean those please?07:23
LocutusOfBorgcpaelzer, it won't migrate anyway but looks like I mostly sorted gst-plugins-bad1.0 failures07:35
cpaelzerin my first skim I haven't seen anything else holding back mapnik (but it was entangled with a lot of other things gis/gpsd/...). Since you seem to have looked deeper already - what else will hold it back?07:41
cpaelzerAlso hearing you have sorted gst-plugins-bad1.0 is nice, tell me about it so I can stop and pick something else07:42
cpaelzervorlon: had mentioned an out of order deconstructor, but at least in my gdb gst_lv2_world_node is a proper pointer like (LilvWorld *) 0x2aa001172c007:48
cpaelzerso what did you find07:49
cpaelzeris it down into liblilv-0.so.0 or eventually something completely else?07:49
cpaelzerLocutusOfBorg: ^^ ?07:55
LocutusOfBorgi need stll some minutes07:56
LocutusOfBorgI started on groovy, and upgrading one by one and rebuilding07:56
cpaelzeroh no pressure, you just teased me well enough that I wanted to know :-)07:57
cpaelzerLocutusOfBorg: if that is any help, I already know that downgrading libsort and liblilv "fixes" it08:00
cpaelzervs=0.16.4-1 vl=0.24.8~dfsg0-1; sudo apt install libsord-0-0=$vs libsord-dev=$vs liblilv-0-0=$vl liblilv-dev=$vl08:00
cpaelzergets Hirsute going (the versions are from groovy)08:00
cpaelzermaybe that shortens your upgrade search08:00
cpaelzerI didn't even need a rebuild of anything, just switching to the older libs08:00
cpaelzernow checking if it is sord or lilv ...08:00
LocutusOfBorgyes I was blaming libsort too08:01
LocutusOfBorgI think sort08:01
LocutusOfBorgcpaelzer, ^^08:01
cpaelzeryes indeed08:01
cpaelzerlibsord downgrade alone fixes it for me as well08:01
cpaelzernow we know where to look out for ...08:01
cpaelzerThis is so much more fun when not being alone ... :-)08:02
LocutusOfBorgactually I got libsord around one week ago, but I lost the work because of a crash08:09
LocutusOfBorgunfortunately, the diff doesn't spot anything obvious http://launchpadlibrarian.net/504290771/sord_0.16.4-1_0.16.6-1.diff.gz08:09
LocutusOfBorgand what is worse is that I don't get why it fails only on ppc64el and s390x08:10
LocutusOfBorgbut since this is not an ABI bump, we can just restore the previous sord, and rebuild gst*08:10
LocutusOfBorgwhy is it fine in Debian?08:11
cpaelzerI don't know yet, I wanted to rebuild 16.4 and see if it fails (if built nowadays)08:12
cpaelzerif it does not, bisect sord - if it does ?toolchain?08:13
cpaelzerLocutusOfBorg: 16.4 rebuilt from git does fail just as much as latest git head of sord08:21
LocutusOfBorgcpaelzer, rebuild it with gcc-9^08:22
LocutusOfBorg?08:22
cpaelzerLocutusOfBorg: works with gcc-908:25
cpaelzerthat is sord v16.4 rebuild in hirsute (but with gcc-9) makes gst-* work without a crash08:25
LocutusOfBorgmmm nice08:25
LocutusOfBorgyesterday I had to downgrade gcc for nehko to fix an ICE with gcc 1008:26
LocutusOfBorghttps://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nheko/0.7.2-3ubuntu108:26
LocutusOfBorgwill you upload sord?08:26
cpaelzergcc-10 with -O0 also works08:26
LocutusOfBorgcpaelzer, probably building sord with -O2 on ppc64el08:26
LocutusOfBorgyes that one08:26
LocutusOfBorgthe usual optimization that Ubuntu do and Debiand doesn't08:27
cpaelzerI had my own share of "step down -O on openjade" and "build with gcc-9 for qemu" recently08:27
cpaelzerso yeah, I'll give this some more verification, but then most likely do an upstream report + a rebuild with -O108:28
cpaelzerOTOH now that I know a bit more where it is I can give it some more debug08:28
cpaelzerjust in case any real solution comes up the first 30 minutes08:28
cpaelzerLocutusOfBorg: but whatever I end up with, yes I will upload sord eventually today08:29
LocutusOfBorgthanks! don't forget to retry gst-plugins-bad1.0 then please :908:31
LocutusOfBorg:)08:31
cpaelzerI will08:31
cpaelzerThere is such a long chain depending on it - which is why I picked it on my +1 day08:31
LocutusOfBorgvorlon, kodi/arm64 removed, but now needs an hint too :D08:31
cpaelzerLocutusOfBorg: might I ask you on the mapnik topic why you said it still won't migrate?08:32
LocutusOfBorgyeah thanks08:32
LocutusOfBorgcpaelzer, its entangled with gdal, entangled with jsoncpp, entangled with everything else08:32
LocutusOfBorgnow with gst-* becoming good, we can look at what is left, assuming somebody cleans mapnik up08:32
LocutusOfBorgbritney sucks at reporting all the blockers, stops at the first not considered one08:33
cpaelzeryeah - of those gdal I've seen08:33
LocutusOfBorgfor sure octave has to be sorted out08:34
cpaelzerLocutusOfBorg: -fno-schedule-insns2 is enough on s390x and much better than full -O1 or gcc-9 I guess08:48
cpaelzerI'll do a PPA to test on a real package build on s390x AND ppc6408:48
cpaelzerand if it works report bugs as well as doing an uload08:48

juliankLaney: Did something regress in autopkgtest adding extra triggers? https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/u/ubuntu-release-upgrader/hirsute/amd64 - 1:21.04.4 was not triggered with python3-apt 2.1.7, but 2.1.3ubuntu1 or sth from release pocket, yet has build-depends (>= 2.1.5)09:05

Odd_Blokenomike: The bugfixed version has already been pulled into Ubuntu, in the development release.  Once released, software in an archive for a given release is only modified through the SRU process: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates.  To update groovy, you'd need to prepare a patch against that version of the package and get your upload sponsored.15:44

Laney-               mkdir $(BDIR)/$$DISK/install ; \17:42
Laneyfor example17:42
vorlonah heh17:42
Laneyif you want to restore diskdefines too, I think that will unbreak pending -> current migrations and then xnox can re-do fixing both sides at once if desired17:43
vorlondiskdefines breaks pending->current? how?17:43
Laneythe validation is looking for that file17:43
Laneyseems invalid but17:44
Laneyit is /o\17:44
xnoxLaney: so cleanup make hirsute images shiny; but changed the contents of focal ones?17:44
xnoxLaney: i'd rather check that functionality of focal ones was not broken17:45
vorlonxnox: it didn't change the contents of the focal ones, it caused them to fail because you removed a mkdir -p line that was used17:45
Laneyhirsute ones work, so I guess something in the */hirsute/* modifications fixes this build failure17:48
vorlonLaney: where does the validation live that's failing? I'd rather fix that17:48

Laneyvorlon: not sure, in some maze of bzr repositories which are all alike17:53
Laneyyou could ask jibel or paride I guess17:54
vorlonhmm17:54
vorlonjibel: ^^ hi :)17:54
LaneyI'm tending to think that fix, and then re-do the change when all the bits are in line is better17:54
Laneybut ymmv17:54
LocutusOfBorgvorlon, kodi arm64 hint please?17:59
LaneyI think it's the files in https://git.launchpad.net/utah/tree/utah/isotest/data17:59
vorlonLocutusOfBorg: added17:59
LocutusOfBorglovely, lets try to make this migration17:59
LocutusOfBorgwe might be closer on next britney run18:00

vorlonbryce: hi, so I've tried to copy things over to the main archive to do the phpunit bootstrap officially (since it's opaque whether a ppa you don't own is safe for binary copies to the archive), and https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/phpunit/9.0.0-1/+build/20804442 fails with a test failure, do you know what I'm missing?23:09
vorlonbryce: (is this why you did a 1ubuntu1 of phpunit with the testsuite disabled?)23:09

brycevorlon, there were fixes after phpunit 9.0.0 so if we do want to land 9.0.0 with the testsuite enabled during build, there's probably fixes available for them.  I wasn't sure if it was worth the effort but can do some digging if you'd like.23:40
