lubot[telegram] <devilhere> After upgrading from 18.04 to 20.04.07:23
lubot[telegram] <devilhere> When I am trying to login it is returning back to login screen.07:23
lubot[telegram] <devilhere> This is my work computer and I tried changing desktop environment, and all the possible solutions that I could find.07:23
lubot[telegram] <devilhere> When entering correct password it is showing just one line information about /dev/sea and returning back to lockscreen.07:23
Maik@devilhere best to search for bug reports or on askubuntu. You're probably not the only one that ran into such an issue.07:33

anamhi https://manual.lubuntu.me/stable/5/5.1/lxqt-panel.html#chapter-5-1-lxqt-panel tells me how to 'use' the panel but not how to add it as a widget ... and the help in the menu doesn't contain the word 'widget' ... help please?19:19
anamit says "LXQt Panel is the bar situated at the bottom of your screen by default. " well I installed lubuntu from ISO and it is not there at all...19:20
anambtw I was using lubuntu 18.04 and it did have the task bar at the bottom but 20.04 now doesn't have it19:20
anamfound this $ sudo apt-get install lxqt openbox -y19:40
anamvery frustrating, you install lubuntu, you read the help files, and the interface it talks about is simply not there and it does not say how to put it, it just assumes wrongly, that it is there19:41
krytarikThat sounds like something has gone horribly wrong at installation then..19:44
krytarikWhat exact packages were installed by the above command then?19:45
anamsorry what above command? when installing, I simply pressed the 'next' button available, I don't rembember getting a choice of desktops19:47
anamwell in theory whe i reboot I should see the lxqt desktop, still waiting for the comand to do its magic :)19:48
anamfollowing instructions from here19:48
anamhttps://linoxide.com/ubuntu-how-to/install-lxqt-desktop-ubuntu/19:49
anamand here https://techblog.thcb.in/how-to-install-lxqt-desktop-environment-in-ubuntu/19:49
krytarikAha, so you didn't actually run said command yet..19:49
krytarikBecause my guess would be that e.g. lxqt-panel is just not running for some reason.19:50
krytarikSo I'd try running "lxqt-panel" from a terminal for a start.19:53
wxlinstalling the lxqt desktop is not installing lubuntu20:04
wxlso there's that20:04
wxllubuntu explicitly installs packages rather than the lxqt metapackage, so we can't guarantee it will work well20:05
wxltl;dr install lubuntu20:05
