[14:17] <DarkTrick> JackFrost, what "menu"? I guess live session is the correct answer. I ran a live session inside a VM (from iso file) and installed it on a usb memory mounted inside the VM.It seemingly installed everything and at the very end a dialog opened with "the installer crashed".
[14:19] <JackFrost> /var/log/syslog should have more info where the installer failed, though sometimes it's far enough that the system was actually installed.  I'm only aware of issues in newer ISOs with grub, depending on the system, and using the boot menu to install.
