[20:45] hello everybody [20:46] based on this page and the last answer [20:47] https://askubuntu.com/questions/1237337/how-to-install-ldoce5-viewer-on-ubuntu-20-04-64-bit [20:47] i wanted to make the file and install it on lubuntu 20.4 [20:48] i did install the dependencies [20:50] and did some change on files [20:51] but i have problem with make and install part [20:51] could you please help me to make it ? [20:58] It looks like that repository is archived and not seeing any new commits. qt4 has been removed as noted in the Ask Ubuntu post so there isn't much that can be done about that either. Ultimately getting software support for software that isn't provided by (L)Ubuntu lies on the upstream provider. [21:00] you mean there is no solution for it? [21:00] ripper: and with Qt4 dead and gone in Ubuntu, and upstream no longer developing the software, you're going to need to find an alternative software that's still actively developed [21:00] ripper: correct. Qt4 is gone from the repositories, and the upstream project is no longer accepting development. [21:00] which basically means LDOCE3 is suffering from Bitrot, and is no longer usable because it relies on Old Software Libraries that's no longer available [21:01] LDOCE5* [21:01] *kicks his keyboard* [21:01] oki doki [21:01] thanks by the way [21:03] and do you think that i could be able to remove ldoce5 just by deleting the data files? otherwise i don't know a way to uninstall it from system [21:05] the installation is like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MOs8KqWIlc
