[19:45] <KGIII> Well, LXQt isn't too bad a choice, so hopefully the choice you make at that point will be as good.
[19:45] <wxl> kwin, for example, has LOTS of frills, but you can scale those back to next to nothing. and it's way more configurable.
[19:46] <KGIII> That's what KDE uses. So, I've used that before. I'm pretty sure.

[19:47] <wxl> and surprisingly kde is pretty light for what it is
[19:47] <wxl> they also went through the process of separating all their components (like lxqt does) so that you can use just bits and pieces without having to take the whole thing

[19:48] <KGIII> I'm not a huge KDE fan. If I were to switch from Lubuntu, it'd be to a Cinnamon DE.
[19:48] <wxl> i actually like kde a lot. it was one of the first de's i ever used and i didn't really like it back then but that was a long time ago
[19:49] <KGIII> My Tumbleweed laptop is KDE. It works but I prefer others. 
[19:50] <wxl> the only thing i will say about kde is that it's got a pro that's also a con: it's got lots of configuration options
[19:50] <The_LoudSpeaker> i don't like kde that much. just has too many parts in it. I am either in gnome or pantheon if I have resources for it. else lxqt.
[19:51] <KGIII> LXQt is growing on me. It doesn't seem as heavy as it seemed when I tried 18.10.

[19:54] <KGIII> Probably. I didn't check RAM usage or anything. I gave it like 3 hours and reinstalled 18.04 from backups.
