=== vlm_ is now known as vlm [05:46] I have a printer installed on my ubuntu server, from my ubuntu desktop it reads that it is connected, but it won't print a test page, any ideas? === lotuspsychje_ is now known as lotuspsychje === jelly-home is now known as jelly [14:52] To monitor an (old) HP server, I have a script which checks the iLO over https. The iLO firmware however used very old SSL standards which are not present anymore in OpenSSL on Ubuntu 20.04. Is there a way to let the check script use separate older OpenSSL libraries? Or is it easier to install some minimal Ubuntu 16.04 vm/docker specifically to run this perl script? [15:36] SmellyCat: for the most part, 16.04 is past End of Life and end of community support per IRC guidelines for EOL. you *could* try and install a 16.04 VM and get ESM for it, however if your old HP server doesn't have an update for the iLO mechanism, and you can't upgrade the server to get newer protocols, etc. then you're a bit out of luck, because all those old protocols that were removed are more or less 'officially dead' and insecure to [15:36] even keep on network. [15:44] teward: 16.04 isn't EOL yet, two months to go ;) [15:44] sorry my brain is dead :P [15:44] ERR:NoCoffee [15:44] SmellyCat: 16.04 dies in 2 months [15:44] so technically right NOW you can install a 16.04 VM but you'll need to either upgrade in 2 months or go to ESM (and then upgrade later) [15:44] you should probably consider *replacing* the old server if you're dealing with that outdated an SSL standard though [15:44] teward: I made these coasters https://roysrarerot.no/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/ihjac.jpg [15:45] RoyK: ERR:INeedMoreCoffee DEMAND:SendMoreCoffee :p [15:45] lol nice [15:45] and these https://roysrarerot.no/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/koffein-1523x1536.jpg [15:55] teward, I'm aware of the EOL and that replacing the HP machines is a better solution :) I'll just conclude that it's not feasible. [15:56] SmellyCat: you can 16.04 and then ESM it at eol in 2 months but... that's a different issue :P [15:59] RoyK: send those coasters my way xD [17:19] teward: hehe === ijohnson is now known as ijohnson|lunch [18:22] Hey all :) May anyone recommend a self-hosted service/cloud to have files/photos auto synced from phone? [18:22] Something like ownCloud [18:23] I had WebDav server, but, it seems, there's no comfort app to have files sync [18:23] using such protocol [18:27] https://snapcraft.io/nextcloud [18:29] ogra, magnificent. [18:29] It seems exactly what I needed [18:29] ogra++ [18:54] nextcloud is great [19:03] It seems, it comes with snapd, by default. [19:03] Is it possible to have it supported by APT? [19:03] https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/stable/admin_manual/installation/example_ubuntu.html [19:03] They suggest downloading an archive directly... === ijohnson|lunch is now known as ijohnson
