[15:49] So...... Let's talk about 5.11 [15:49] I still had liquorix set as my kernel, just never bothered to change it back to default lowlatency [15:49] it just updated me to 5.11 yesterday [15:49] and I gotta say, I'm impressed. [15:50] running 32/2 on the audiofire I would get xruns. Not many, but some. especially while running the system hard [15:50] I'm running sysbench set to a process per cpu thread, listening to music and doing all my normal stuff [15:50] and no xruns yet [15:51] I don't know how this would affect intel systems, but on amd at least 5.11 appears to provide a pretty big improvement [15:54] just dropped it to 16/2 to see what happens [15:58] ok, xruns, but honestly I'm not that surprised with a system at 100% load. :) [17:26] good to hear, I did try 5.11 (ubuntu lowlatancy), but just to see if snd-fireworks would load (it didn't) [17:28] I'll keep on it to see how things continue [17:28] If it all looks good tomorrow I'll switch it back to 16/2 and see what happens. [17:28] every time I try out new stuff I can no longer do work on sw [17:29] if I install all the dev stuff then I am not really testing the iso or whatever as is. [17:29] so in the end I spend almost all my time on 20.04 [17:44] I'll be moving to 21.04 on my next system so hopefully I can be useful there
