Has anyone had a problem with booting lately? I cant login in the GUI in xubuntu since this morning. I can still access the CLI from the tty (ctrl+alt+f1). I investigated the problem. It seems lightdm-gtk is the source of the problem. When i check its logfile (/var/log/lightdm/seat0-greeter.log.7.gz), I see this message: "drawing a [13:18] gadget with negative dimensions. Did you forget to allocate a size? (Node menubar owner GreeterMenuBar)". [13:18] This error message is printed repeatedly. [13:30] SimSim: but that's only a warning message, right? === longerstaff13 is now known as Real_CeeGee [16:11] just a heads up for those interested... usb "conks" out after a few hours... EMI? message shows ... hard, very hard - to fix. [16:11] I am trying to run a C program reset to fix the issue... [16:14] I am finding myself trying to cycle through -- "lsusb" -- to find the bus and device to "reset" all the USB ports [16:14] If anyone has any insight, or has experienced this issue -- it would be appreciative [21:17] Hello. I installed Xubuntu 20.04 in my old asus eeepc and it works surprisingly fine [21:18] as usual the hotkeys in the keyboard are not recognised. Could anybody help? [21:19] In the past I used to edit etc/default/grub and add a line with acpi_osi=Linux [21:19] But there is no grub file there in the new version [21:23] Arseniev, /boot/grub/ should contain your grub.cfg [21:24] i haven't had keys not being recognized myself so i dunno [21:24] 1.) I wouldn't edit the grub.cfg by hand. 2.) I can't really believe the grub config file not being there suddenly. [21:24] ^ [21:27] ooops, my fault! the file is there :S [21:28] I think it's too late. I should go to sleep haha [21:28] thanks guys! [22:05] using xubuntu20.04. how to configure desktop so I can rollup/rolldown window with mousewheel?
