=== vlm_ is now known as vlm [04:54] alguém online? [04:55] Xubuntu 20.04.2.0 é um estrume, perdi 4 horas achando que o problema fosse da uefi mil coisas que testei [04:55] e é essa distro que nao abre teamviewer e chrome após instalação [04:57] só consegui depois de por o 16.04 === sorinello1 is now known as sorinello [04:58] to de madrugada num hospital tentando recuperar um sistema desse [04:59] como digo sempre 16.04 foi o Win7 do Xubuntu, tudo funciona, só nao continuo utilizar pq está obsoleto === sorinello1 is now known as sorinello === sorinello1 is now known as sorinello === sorinello1 is now known as sorinello === sorinello1 is now known as sorinello === sorinello1 is now known as sorinello === sorinello1 is now known as sorinello === sorinello1 is now known as sorinello === k3yp- is now known as k3yp [21:21] how do i reset keyring password? [21:21] i changed the password to login but can't get into keyring [21:39] you can try to change it with seahorse [22:25] hi guys can you help me out [22:25] i'm having trouble installing xubuntu [22:27] be more specific about the issue you're having [22:29] when installing it I'm gettting an installation failed saying "this is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, Or a faulty hard disk" and it continues [22:29] idk why it's saying that cause my flashdrive works just fine [22:30] there are two ways this can have gone wrong: the .iso download didn't work perfectly, a single or a few bytes didn't make it properly. [22:30] or writing the .iso to the usb didn't work perfectly, a single or a few bytes didn't make it properly. [22:30] did you 1. Verify the ISO you downloaded and 2. did you let the flashdrive perform the check if it OK and it passed? [22:31] no i assumed it was okay cause i downloaded the torrent from the official site [22:31] always verify the checksum [22:32] also, how did you flash the iso to the usb stick? [22:32] idk how to do that [22:32] i used rufus [22:33] so you're on windows... [22:34] i was but i deleted it before the installation crashed [22:34] https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/how-to-verify-ubuntu#1-overview [22:34] also counts for Xubuntu or any of the other ubuntu iso's ^ [22:35] oh i didn't know of that [22:35] most people use Balena Etcher by the way to flash a iso or image to a usb stick [22:36] so i should redo the process? [22:38] do you have xubuntu installed now? [22:39] or from what machine are you typing from now [22:40] after the it failed to install it opened me in the try xubuntu environment like i'm using rn but i can't install it to the harddrive [22:40] so like in the temporarly session [22:41] live session :) [22:41] yeah lol [22:41] do you still have windows on the computer? [22:41] no it crashed windows was already deleted [22:42] after* [22:42] then i guess you are stuck... how are you going to flash another usb stick...? [22:43] tomreyn: is it possible through a live session? [22:43] if you have another computer, just verify the .iso there, if you still have it. then use etcher to write it to the usb stick again, and VERIFY the data written [22:43] i can ask to use my cousins pc [22:44] sure, you can also do it on the live session, with enough ram, and a second usb key. [22:44] but asking your cousin may be the easier option [22:44] yeah prolly [22:45] agreed [22:45] thanks tomreyn [22:45] do any of guys use discord, i'll try to do it again in friday after school wouldn't want to run into any problems again [22:46] sorry about the typos, i'm really sleepy rn lol [22:47] i use discord but there's no Xubuntu support channel there so you have to come here on IRC [22:47] hhmm not sure if i'll be back here cause once the pc goes off the entire session will be deleted with everything in it [22:48] can you give me your discord? [22:48] i do not provide support through discord, sorry [22:49] oh [22:49] okay [22:49] https://webchat.freenode.net/#xubuntu will bring you here. [22:49] but be sure to have some patience, don't expect an immediate response. [22:49] you can connect to IRC whil in a live session and installing the OS [22:50] whil/while [22:50] whaa? [22:52] Oh okay I've logged on with my phone [22:52] I'll be here on Friday before I do anything so that I just do everything right [22:53] good luck then! [22:53] there's also a chat log [22:53] thnx, have a good day/night [22:53] !irclogs [22:53] Official channel logs can be found at https://irclogs.ubuntu.com/ . LoCo channels are now logged there too. Meetingology logs at https://ubottu.com/meetingology/logs/ [22:54] you, too! [22:56] Oh wait forgot to save those links to verifying your iso and stuff can you resend them [23:59] i'm glad we pointed them to the irc logs and pointed out to have patienace when asking questions.
