In Notifications; Application Settings, configure events, there is an option for Speech, but I can't seem to get it to work. Does anyone know anything about speech in Ubunutu Studio 20.10 / KDE 5 Plasma?

[16:37] <JonyPooh> OvenWerks, i do have Jack working mostly. I do have to do pulseaudio kill the first time I boot up, because Jack likes to start at boot some reason, but I have it turned off. Everytime I boot up I end up pulseaudio kill, then i stop and start and stop jack, and everythings working :-)
[16:38] <JonyPooh> but, yeah, ive only tested this with jack off, but i have jack setup to start a pulseaudio output sink and tear it down when it stops
[16:47] <OvenWerks> studio-controls should do all that for you. If you use studio-controls to start jack, the next time you boot jack will run from boot. If you stop jack from studio-controls, jack will not start at boot

[16:48] <OvenWerks> JonyPooh: also, for pulse to work while jack is running, there must be a pulse-jack bridge running (controls does this by default)
[16:49] <OvenWerks> if that does not work make sure you have the latest studio-controls (enable the backport PPA in ubuntustudio-installer)
