dmtarmey1 not fully installed or removed.11:08
dmtarmeyNeed to get 14.2 kB of archives.11:08
walexdmtarmey: 'aptitude' or 'apt' should have probably emitted a message saying how to fix that "1 not fully installed or removed", but most likely it is not fully configured11:11
walexdmtarmey: try 'sudo dpkg --configure -a'11:11
dmtarmeyThe following packages will be REMOVED11:27

IrcsomeBot<Bentota> If root is btrfs and timeshift is configured, then just run timeshift and roll back the system to the previous snapshot, then reboot11:28
dmtarmey installed edubuntu-artwork package post-removal script subprocess returned error exit status 12711:28

walexdmtarmey:  or edit '/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/org.ayatana.indicator.datetime.gschema.xml' to remove the duplicate line, it is going to be removed anyhow11:45

IrcsomeBot<Sick_Rimmit> Hi all this is happening tonight. #FocusFriday - Join the TV Online Meetup this Friday @ 20:00 UTC … More details, and to bag an invite … https://t.co/HfR5TaIWY114:47
xnat834-MHello everyone15:21
xnat834-MWhen trying to play any video with VLC on Kubuntu 20.10, I get the following error: 'libva error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/iHD_drv_video.so init failed'15:22
xnat834-MThe full output of 'vainfo' is the following: https://bin.disroot.org/?46d056063a92e9b1#BnE4Z2Di2b51eHhjsqgF6mtELYXiXxCeZQgaTtuAkPsW15:22
xnat834-MPlaying videos with mpv works and I think VLC worked for me in 20.04.15:23
BluesKajhi xnat834-M , have you updated/upgraded your packages lately since some VLC updates came down the from the repos yesterday15:25
xnat834-MYes, I'm fully upgraded.15:34
BluesKajit's hard to determine why the /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/iHD_drv_video.so fails to initialize, especially when mpv works fine. I prefer SMplayer, altho I do use the tools in VLC too see what codecxs/media streams are available.15:52

BluesKaj.15:53
xnat834-MI need it to play videos in PDFs via Okular15:54
BluesKajthis might help, https://askubuntu.com/questions/629672/pdf-viewer-combined-with-video-player16:03
xnat834-MThis doesn't help16:14
xnat834-MOkular would play the video, but VLC fails16:14
xnat834-MAnd it fails since 20.10 and I have no clue what's wrong16:15
xnat834-MMaybe this is related?16:19

kritomashello, i got a slight problem with Kubuntu 20.04 LTS, my volume keys are broken in a weird way:16:28
kritomasthey don't really work, and when they do, the volume either slides into mute or to max16:28
kritomasit's always a fight to set it to the wanted level16:29

lab__hello KDE friends. is it possible for me to in Dolphin, when I have the Terminal option selected and I am running Ranger or similar CLI file manager, can Dolphin navigate to the directories that I am currently inside in the CLI file manager?18:08

geniihm19:11
Dragnslcrlab__- I wouldn't expect Dolphin to be able to know what directory you're in with some other program, but it will follow what directory the terminal is in19:52
lab__thanks yeah thats what im trying to do -- file manager like Ranger in the terminal and I can paste images/files up in the dolphin file manager for speed19:57
lab__or I can probably make a script in the file manager to open up the equivalent folder in dolphin -- that should do the jo20:03

radueGuys, is it safe to remove Muon and keep Discover? Why would there be 2 managers installed by default?21:11
RikMillsradue: discover is a software store, which only shows things that the upstream devs have provided appstream metadata for, which is not every package available in the repos. muon is a conventional package manager that shows all packages in the archive. so different usage cases for different people and different tasks21:23
raduelike synaptics21:24
radueok, thanks!21:24
IrcsomeBot<Bentota> How will you search apackage by it's name without muon? One can use apt, of course. Centos/fedora/redhat/oracle people use dnf from terminal and they are fine)21:24
