scottmlewis there a way to mark an interface so it doesn't come up automatically at boot? I didn't see an option to do this in the reference material14:49
sil2100scottmlew: hey! We have the code for that ready, but not merged or released yet as it requires a newer systemd present14:56
sil2100(systemd 248 to be exact)14:56
sil2100scottmlew: so currently it's not possible, but should be in the next netplan release14:57
sil2100https://github.com/canonical/netplan/pull/171 <- is the PR for the change14:57
scottmlewthat's good news! any ETA on that?14:57
sil2100It's a very long-standing feature request so we'd like to have it available ASAP, but systemd 248 is still not out yet officially (will be this week) - hard to say, but I guess it shouldn't took longer than a month! Would be faster if not for Ubuntu 21.04 being right around the corner and everyone is busy stabilizing things14:59
sil2100It's just guess-work right now sadly15:00
scottmlewok that's still helpful information...much appreciated15:00
scottmlewin the meantime, for my particular use case, I can use a hack of assigning a bogus IP to the interface, and manually changing it to a valid one when I want to "up" the interface15:01
