Kimmie11Hi guys, i need help.. im using the new interl nuc kit i3 and it keeps freezing on lubuntu 16.04 and even 20.04.. can someone help me?21:35
tomreynKimmie11: try a bios upgrade22:42
guivercKimmie11, Lubuntu 16.04 reached EOL in 2019, so we won't help you there (3 years from release in 2016-April for flavors)22:42
tomreynif that doesn't help, run a memtest. one which works with uefi is available at memtest86.com for free.22:43
Kimmie11@tomreyn: i tried the update still nothing works22:43
tomreynwhich update?22:44
Kimmie11@tom bios update, it didn’t help still freeze.22:44
tomreynwith which lubuntu release?22:44
Kimmie11@tomreyn: 16.0422:45
tomreynwell, try with a supported release22:45
Kimmie11And when i tried 20.04 still same it crash22:45
tomreynhow do you mean "crash"?22:45
tomreynwhat does it look like?22:46
Kimmie11Freeze at first then there’s logs i couldn’t take a picture of it. Im sorry..22:46
Kimmie11And when i used 20.04 i cant actually used it because of lag.22:47
Kimmie11@tomreyn: will try later to edit the grub if will work.22:49
tomreynso if you are saying you first upgraded the bios to the latest version, then tried with a supported Lubuntu release, such as a fully updated installation of 20.04 LTS, or the latest installer image of 20.04 LTS, then run a memtest (as described above). if it succeeds without any errors after at least 2 full passes (run it overnight), then try booting again and try to capture logs.22:49
tomreyn"lag" may be due to insufficient hardware resources. there are many intel nuc models.22:50
Kimmie11Will do thank you tomreyn22:55
