jamespagerbasak: morning10:28
jamespagewe have a ovs 2.13.3 awaiting SRU team review for focal and groovy - alongside cpaelzer_ 's DPDK SRU which is already released10:29
jamespagecan chance you could take a look?10:29
rbasakjamespage: o/11:17
rbasakYes I hope to get to that on this shift11:17
jamespagethankyou :)11:17
rbasakjamespage: your changelog entry for ovs in groovy is missing the most recent groovy security update and three CVE patches are dropped. Is that deliberate (eg. those CVEs are fixed upstream now), or an accident? Your upload dates from well after the security update, I think?14:15
rbasakI've not checked Focal yet.14:15
jamespagehmm - I'll check14:15
rbasakFocal is the same14:16
rbasakIf it's OK to drop the CVEs we should probably document that they've been checked regardless - normally this'd be by adding to the -security changelog entries and explicitly mentioning the patch drops. Not sure whether it's worth the effort of new uploads though - maybe just document in the bug instead? Up to youj.14:17
jamespagegit vs distro out of sync - let me patch things up and make the changelog history and package correct again14:17
rbasakOK thanks. I'll reject these ones then.14:19
jamespagerbasak: OK about to re-upload15:15
jamespagethe patches where all included in the point release15:15
jamespageso documented in changelog as usual15:15
rbasakOK. Thank you for checking!15:15
jamespageback in the queue for review15:15
sdezielI've seeing quite a few Bionic VMs have their ext4 rootfs turn readonly out of the blue. Anyone else seeing this pattern in the past month or so?16:55
PosterI usually see that when there is an underlying storage issue, I don't recall the details but after some period of time of writes failing, the mount will become read only to try and avoid losing data17:28
=== zerosum6 is now known as zerosum
sdezielPoster: yeah but in our case this happens on multiple different hypervisors :/18:48
PosterDo they share storage?19:18
sdezielno19:21
sdezieland so far, only Bionic VMs were affected... could be anecdotal though19:21
Posternot real sure, I would sometimes run into it prior to adding more memory to the NAS where the disks were stored19:23
munskinghello, does ubuntu have software to manage a dell PERC raid without rebooting?19:56
=== denningsrogue64 is now known as denningsrogue6
leftyfbmunsking: I think you need to use an iDrac for that. Maybe also look into Openmanage http://linux.dell.com/repo/community/ubuntu/21:15
munskingleftyfb: with idrac i have to reboot the server to apply the changes, which i want to avoid21:16
leftyfbmunsking: then you'll definitely have to reboot regardless21:16
leftyfbmunsking: idrac is as out of band as you can get. If that is saying you need to reboot, then you need to reboot21:17
munskingdagnabbit... guess i'll stick to sata to usb adapters then for this little fix21:17
