Guest56550Hi all.  First Congrads on a very nice release.  I did 'sudo do-release-upgrade -d' from groovy Lubuntu and it's workin' great.  I did notice grub was updated and wiped out my grub theme.   I can easily install a new one, but the default GUI based grub I have currently shows a blank black screen after I hit Ubuntu and a blank screen if pick01:58
Guest56550other options.  I was expecting to be allowed to edit the boot parameters.  I am just guessing the video defaulted to some ancient vga support as image is all stretched and very low resolution.  Or is this just a dumbed down default so no one is scared by a text based grub command line / editor.01:58
Guest56550Since you don't seem to be a chatty bunch ..Later I'm just going to switch to text grub so I know I can edit the default parms if needed.02:14

dragon2I have had a few freez-ups in Lubuntu, first wirless not working, then the entire computer19:15
dragon2is there anything going on lately?19:15
dragon2I am on a macbook pro19:15
dragon2I had a few windows open, streaming TV,  news19:15
dragon2Do I need more RAM?19:16
dragon28G might not be that much these days19:18
krytarikAre you asking this without having even looked at the RAM consumption yet?  Because generally 8 GB should be plenty enough, I personally got only half of that and everything works fine..19:21
dragon2ram consumption in htop is just over 1GB, I have hardly seen it above 219:26
dragon2not that I monitor that ofte, just recently19:26
dragon2When wireless works, and I don`t loose wifi connecting, things seem to run fine19:27
dragon2I guess it`s not RAM then19:31
dragon2it is probably in connection with the wifi connetion loss, though I cannot see exactly why. Wireless cuts, then when if fiddle with the wireless the cursor freezes on the screen19:32
krytarikSounds like a driver issue to me also affecting the stability of the whole system.19:34
krytarikSo I'd check if there was a kernel update recently and if so, see if the issue also occurs having booted into the previous one.19:36
