tewardlaney and release team: y'all need to update links on the release notes00:14
tewardhalf of em point to betas00:14
vorlonteward: corrected00:16
tewardvorlon: thanks.  until you hear backfrom Robie or the Canonical server team we have an empty section that says "Nothing Yet" under 'Ubuntu Server' heading, might be one of those "ummmm... was this a typo?" situation00:17
vorlonlooks like a duplicated section, I'll remove it00:18
tewardperfect thanks vorlon and sorry to make you do work :)00:19
tewardI'd edit myself but i'm lazy so :)00:19
vorlonfunnily enough, my job involves doing work00:19
tewardheheh00:19
tewardwell i'm glad I can just put more work on you :P00:21

iceySRU folks - follow up question about heat-dashboard - there's a point release that's out which contains, basically, the metadata from upstream for the new branch, and one commit (bug fix) - given the topic of SRU exceptions, would you prefer that the commit itself follow the normal SRU process, or would it be OK for me to upload the point releaes?11:18

rbasakicey: if I understand you correctly, both options are equivalent from an SRU perspective, and I'd leave it to you to decide whatever is easiest for you. Since we only really care about the diff, and not the specific upstream version number, and metadata changes for upstream point releases that we already accept would not be an issue.12:00
rbasak(interestingly I recall one occasion when a version bump did make something explode because something else was incorrectly testing on it, but that's unlikely to happen in a package where microrelease bumps are common)12:01
iceyrbasak: perfect - it's generally nicer to pull in the upstream point release rather than carrying patches, if possible :)12:01
rbasakequivalent> actually thinking about it they aren't exactly, since the microrelease option doesn't require the usual SRU documentation. But my answer is still the same - up to you :)12:01

cjwatsonSo hm, the process of initializing impish appears to have copied packages from hirsute-proposed into impish, which is not obviously desirable: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gjs/+publishinghistory12:53
cjwatsonerr that was meant to be https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/DnXpGHsvGV/12:53
cjwatsonbut it looks like proposed-migration was incorrectly left enabled?12:53
cjwatsonSomebody in ubuntu-release should probably go through everything in https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/DnXpGHsvGV/ and decide whether it was properly migrated12:54
xnoxInitialised empty Git repository in /home/ubuntu-archive/proposed-migration/data/impish-proposed/Hints/.git/12:58

cjwatsonrbasak: Could you run "mark-suite-dirty -A ubuntu/partner -s impish" please?13:18

Laneycjwatson: packer and gdnsd resurrections are being rejected with "binaries conflicting with the existing ones" - any idea how to convince LP to accept them?16:43
cjwatsonLaney: Ugh.  If you've hit that bug then the only recourse is probably a build1 upload16:46
LaneyHang on, I got packer to work by --from-suite=focal (where it was first built)16:47
LaneySame with gdnsd16:47
LaneyHoorah, sorry - I forgot about that initially16:47
cjwatsonOh, maybe ... happens when some of the builds failed I think16:47
cjwatsonThat's where the first riscv64 build happened for those anyway16:48
LaneyYeah, not where they were first built, misled by rmadison16:48

Laneyrbasak: I'm running the removals now. I found a few more that I think were meant to be SRUs and will leave them in hirsute-proposed. Feel free to get them removed though if they're not.17:21
Laneyrbasak: IOW I think you can do the ACL changes now17:21
Laneyxnox: remind me to review that b1 branch next week if I forget!17:24
rbasakack, looking17:25
rbasakLaney: there are a couple of syncs in NEW. Do those need rejecting?17:25
rbasakFor Unapproved, they would all (of course) then leave Impish with an older version. What's the expectation there? That we'll follow the usual process for Hirsute, but also copy forward to Impish as soon as the binaries are built? Or something else?17:34
bdmurrayrbasak: Are you available to do an SRU review?17:44
rbasakbdmurray: I'm way beyond EOD now and a little too tired I think, sorry.17:49
bdmurrayrbasak: No problem17:49
rbasakbdmurray: leave the details here though and I'll try to pick it up when I next can, if not done by then?17:51

vorlonLaney: I got a notification about haskell-hgettext being published to impish release, which I knew was wrong; I see that you've since fixed this; what was the cause? is it somehow related to the missing hints issue xnox brought up?20:05

cjwatsonstgraber: https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-archive/ubuntu-archive-tools/trunk/revision/1470.1.120:31
stgraberhmm, I committed that earlier this week from my laptop20:32

cjwatsonYour laptop doesn't somehow have a complicated bound branch arrangement?20:32
cjwatsonHow odd20:32
cjwatsonI guess it must have been uncommitted from the mainline, but I have no idea why20:33

seb128stgraber, cjwatson vorlon, sorry that was my fault, I forced pushed changes for a branch I've up for review but forgot that bzr would push to the master location and not the one I used previously :-/ since my checkout was recent enough and there was no newer merges listed on launchpad I just restore what I had, unsure if I could have got the proper state back from bzr?21:02
