[02:16] Bashing-om, finished read thru, looks good (no comments) [02:16] guiverc: You are getting tooo good :D [02:18] me, nah.. this keyboard (and 4 others I've swapped in) keep missing keys, so its either the cable (i just unplug model m itself) OR in fact me that makes many errors you catch... [02:21] guiverc: So far so good with my ole keyboard - keep patching it up and keeps on going - latest was super glue and a paper clip :P [02:36] swapping out 5 keyboards & still having the ~same issue leaves me thinking its gotta be cable, or me!.. i don't have issues with the keyboards on other boxes (so it could just be how I sit/stand in relation to this box.. but I'll replace this box eventually & can switch out cable then (eventially will plan a trip to computerbank so I can buy a half-dozen more mice as ready-replacements & get a newer 2nd-hand box etc) [02:41] guiverc: ' xev ' to the rescue - Know what the keys are doing :D [02:42] keys don't show in xev.. so box isn't getting the signal when it fails.. it [02:42] it's not OS related.. (occurs here or bionic) leaving box, cable or ME as cause was my conclusion. [02:43] guiverc: Yukkie - yup time to swap out the cable next :( [02:44] not a new issue... been having issues >15 months as you'll have seen in gdoc, my posts everywhere etc.. swapping out cable means removing 4 (maybe 5) screens so I can get near back of box - why it wsn't done [02:46] guiverc: Uh Huh - them screws - I have that same issue to spare off my power supply - fan controller messes up on this one. Have many times to spin up the fan myself ( so far so good ). [02:47] i set up this [02:47] sorry [02:50] i setup this table without ability to exchange parts easily (the table is overloaded so i was careful with where/how i sat things & it's screens, not screws) when I pull it apart I'll rebuild it all (six boxes sharing six screens; two each, four keyboards (one for standing, one for sitting) & a huge mess of cables (& thumb-drives for QA-testing).. occ.health & fire safety nightmare but it mostly works for me [02:52] guiverc: function before beauty :P [02:52] (i can't operate all boxes with any keyboard; KVM switches send box to one (or two) of the keyboards; main box has 2 keyboards so I can stand & type, or sit & type.. :) yep function & sure not beauty [02:59] guiverc: Me: KISS - one box - one monitor - 4 work spaces; does for me what I want to do :P [03:01] :) me unknown number of boxes; unknown number of monitors ... no idea if I achieve what I want, but I have fun :) [03:01] guiverc: And with all this fun still manage to get UWN out on time :P [03:02] :) [07:31] -SwissBot:#ubuntu-news- ::Planet:: Ubuntu Blog: OpenStack CentOS alternatives:7 reasons to migrate to Ubuntu @ https://ubuntu.com//blog/openstack-centos [11:13] -SwissBot:#ubuntu-news- ::Planet:: Ubuntu Blog: ROS enterprise support: 15 things you need to know @ https://ubuntu.com//blog/ros-enterprise-support-15-things-you-need-to-know [13:15] -SwissBot:#ubuntu-news- ::Planet:: Full Circle Magazine: Full Circle Weekly News #207 @ https://fullcirclemagazine.org/podcast/full-circle-weekly-news-207/ [17:20] -SwissBot:#ubuntu-news- ::OMG!Ubuntu:: Linux Kernel 5.12 Released, This is What’s New @ https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2021/04/new-linux-5-12-kernel-features (by Joey Sneddon) [19:07] UWN: Pulling "WIP" - channel log reflects no further edits.
