For the desktop image almost certainly not (or not with working KMS at any rate). On server I'd *guess* it'd be possible for debugging purposes but I wouldn't bet on absolutely all the hardware working (e.g. there might be a few cases like wifi modules not working on the later platforms) [21:23] oh, and come to think of it the ethernet device "moved" in the device-tree at some point in the 5.x series so if you were using d-t's from a later build with the earlier one I'd expect that to disappear too.
