[05:04] I'm trying to install clang-11 on Ubuntu-20.04, but I'm running into this error mentioned by aptitude: [05:05] libc6-i386 : Depends: libc6 (= 2.31-0ubuntu9.2) but 2.31-0ubuntu9.3 is installed [05:06] This Ask Ubuntu post mentions downgrading to 9.2: https://askubuntu.com/a/1338046 is that a safe thing to do, or should this be reported back upstream to Ubuntu? [05:08] Sorry I meant to say I'm on Kubuntu 20.04 [05:08] i am not a member of the "crew", but IIRC the 9.2/9.3 part is just like a build number. there shouldn't be any real issue with the downgrade. you may want to hang out and wait a bit for someone a bit more knowlegeable than me to wake up and see your question tho [05:10] Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, it seems like it should be relatively minor, but I know libc is a critical package, so didn't want to shoot myself in the foot :D [05:13] but, yeah. let the "crew" wake up and get their brains out of neutral. they will have much better insight into it than i ever could. if no one responds for a few hours feel free to repeat your question atleast as politely as you have already as their scrollback might knocked the question off their "radar" === alkis[m] is now known as alkisg[m] === alkisg[m] is now known as alkisg === alkisg is now known as Guest47541 === Guest47541 is now known as alkisg2 === alkisg2 is now known as alkisg [11:56] Hi, can you advice how can i turn off my kde, and start xserver with openbox(as for example) with a needed script ? I need to make a system without interface. For kiosk use. But i have a test machine with kubuntu [12:01] IIRC sddm supports autologin. I suppose you can set that to autologin to openbox. [16:33] Should this be reported as bug back upstream to Ubuntu? [16:42] mevatron: a customer of mine reported this issue on Linux Mint and I was trying to see wth they did wrong there! You saw it on vanilla Kubuntu with no PPAs etc? [16:43] If so, it sounds like Ubuntu has published a newer libc6 version, and then revoked it, which would indeed break a lot of use cases [16:59] alkisg mevatron https://bugs.launchpad.net/snap-core20/+bug/1926355 [16:59] Launchpad bug 1926355 in snap-core20 "Snap applications segfault with new core20 (rev: 1015+)" [Critical,New] [17:01] RikMills: thanks, found it a few minutes ago and I was asking about it in #ubuntu-devel...
