kubuntushort question.. I have linux mint installed on my nvme with a separate /boot partition, a swap partition and the main / partition. I wanna install kubuntu on a HDD I have in there (/dev/sdb). The resize installation in the kubuntu install script somehow selects resize of the usb stick and not the NVME and I have no option to change that resize option to another drive so I gotta do it manually... it asks me to select a15:20
kubuntu[15:18] <Guest60461> partition where to install the boot loader, which one should I select the naked /dev/NVME or /dev/NVMEp1/p2/p3/or p4 ? I think I am doubting about selecting /dev/NVME or /dev/NVMEp2, since p2 is my /boot.. will Kubuntu automatically make a dual boot out of it???15:20
kubuntu[15:19] <Guest60461> or should I install the boot loader to /dev/sdb, where the kubuntu partition will reside??15:21
kubuntuI wanna make a dual boot linux mint and kubuntu, but on separate drives15:21
kubuntuat the moment I have a single boot linux mint on my nvme15:21
alkisgThat's not really short :)15:47
alkisgWhat's the output of `sudo parted -l; ls /sys/firmware/efi` ?15:47
kubuntuwait16:03
kubuntuI am booting in legacy mode16:05
kubuntuparted just gives a list of my hdds and partitions16:05
alkisgYes, the output would help us see if your disk is mbr, and if you're actually booted in bios mode now. In that case, you install grub to the whole device, e.g. nvme, not to nvmep2, and to the second disk, not in the uefi partition16:13
emvalorie: yeah I think you're probably right.16:38
emvalorie: I think if you're here this is the true #kubuntu :)16:38
