[19:42] <Elvis123> Hi there - latest Xubuntu (upgraded by about 4 ubuntu releases so not clean install). The WM seems broke. Desktop icons etc all missing, i can't drag/resize windows, can't alt-tab, but i can launch shortcuts on the top taskbar and open a console to launch apps. Short of removing xubuntu and purging the settings via apt - any suggestions to fix

[19:44] <Elvis123> This just occurred out of the blue with no warning. There might have been a regular software update just before but i cna't list what was updated. Might be a coincidence, but my ethernet networking stopped working half an hour after (fine in win10 when i tested) replaced the cat6 with another and it's working again
