UEFI Modus is enabled secure boot not. [12:14] ghostcube: which version ur trying to boot [12:14] 21.04 [12:15] try 20.04.. i dont know why... but i had trouble with current installers [12:15] check for updates for your mobo bios [12:15] no available last one is from may 23 [12:15] so its new [12:16] TheBigK: hmm ok will try [12:16] ghostcube: whats the error message exactly? or it just doesnt find it [12:16] TheBigK: a lot of Errors inside the bootscreen, and then it just stops [12:17] i cant tell you the exact error that causes this stop [12:17] ghostcube: who uses optical media still... u have no usb drive on hand? [12:18] sure i have a usb drive, but this should not matter for a installation === steve_ is now known as steevc [12:19] ghostcube: considering how unreliable optic media is... i wouldnt count it off... does it work in a different computer? [12:20] have not tried a different pc so far. but i never had any problems using a dvd to install. considering how unreliable usb drives are... [12:20] will test it on another pc and tell you [12:23] ghostcube: i had troubles using kubuntu 20.10 and 21.04 on thinkpads getting it to install... 20.04 and upgrading wasnt an issue... i hope u can fix it... [12:23] TheBigK: thx for the info i will try this :) [12:24] ghostcube: remove "quiet" from the boot menu, so that you see the error messages, and then paste the error here [12:26] the boot menu is available by F2 so i can see what it does, but its just stuck. The last i seee before is systemd foo... but this isnt really related to the not boot to installer problem it claims about network manager. so i dont think this is the real problem causing the issue [12:26] but i can do it later and post it [12:27] ghostcube: yeah hard to debug without error messages. but on my ryzen 3900 with x570 chipset... i have no problem booting atleast the live system [12:27] but im booting from network over my pi for setups... so... yeah... is not same [12:28] ah ok so x570 works for you than its not the chipset :D [12:28] thats nice to hear [12:29] could the 3060 RTX be a propblem? schouldnt or? [12:29] amd is actually quite good for linux... they are easier workable for linuxers :D [12:29] ghostcube: i dont have one so i cant comment... but i doubt it with current nvidia-drivers [12:33] but when u say... systemd is already booting... then the kernel booted correctly... that sounds weird... yeah... we need a bootlog [12:33] https://askubuntu.com/questions/1265397/unable-to-install-ubuntu-20-04-via-live-usb-ryzen-5-3600 <- thats what i found u can try as well [12:36] as i understand, you never get to the install menu, where you could select F6 nomodeset ? [12:38] oerheks: yep, the dvd gets stuck before the grafical interface comes up [12:42] oerheks: the only thing is that i have the grub2 start menu to select what kind of installation i want to do, i can tell it boot parameters if anyone has a idea which one [12:51] F6 nomodeset is syslinux which is only used in BIOS. ghostcube uses UEFI/grub. He can add nomodeset from there. The systemd message is much later. [12:52] I.e., ghostcube press "e" in grub to replace "quiet" with "nomodeset" [12:54] alkisg: exactly i use uefi, i will try nomodeset [12:57] Remember to remove quiet and if it fails again, upload a photo. It's important to see which part it reached. [12:58] ok :) [15:00] Hello, I'm experiencing an odd issue with Dolphin. I have connected to a samba share using Dolphin's "Add Network Folder" function. But when I try to paste files into the share, I don't get the option to paste the file, only "Paste Content of Clipboard". If I drag-and-drop the file to the share, then it will give me the option to Copy/Move and [15:00] it works fine. Just the right-click context menu doesn't work, and neither does Ctrl-V. [15:03] I am on the Kubuntu LTS, btw. === genii-core is now known as genii === alberto is now known as Angus === wagner is now known as Guest9542 === duke is now known as duke__ === Iamahuman4 is now known as Iamthehuman [22:02] Hi there
