[20:21] Uploaded file: https://uploads.kiwiirc.com/files/f714ec09241f02ccf34aedd16bf34e87/pasted.txt [20:21] Hey guys, I'm having problems installing Lubuntu... I really wish there were still alternate releases because that would have made my job a lot easier here. So basically my problems is that I can only boot into safe graphics mode for some reason. Abd when I try to install Lubuntu from there, the next button is off the screen. I also can't change [20:21] the resolution, there is only one option in the dropdown. [20:23] diniamo: Which version of Lubuntu are you trying to install? [20:25] Currently 21.04, but I realized I should do LTS instead. [20:32] So, kc2bezany idea? [20:33] Both releases have the same result? [20:33] I'm gonna test LTS now. [20:33] Also what does `lspci | grep VGA` show? [20:47] kc2bez VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation Geforce Gtx 560 Ti] (rev a1) [20:52] You may need to install the proprietary Nvidia drivers to set the full resolution. I would check to see if the 20.04 live iso has the same results as 21.04. [20:54] In the menu under preferences is the the additional drivers installer. [20:54] OK, well I can do that tomorrow, but I can't really install Nvidia drivers here... if I install them with the command line command then it requires an restart, if I do it in the UI, it doesn't do anthing. [20:55] I am not sure the best solution for the live iso since it needs the restart. [20:56] Perhaps nomodeset can help? [20:56] !nomodeset [20:56] Systems with certain graphics chipsets may not boot properly out of the box. "Temporarily Add a Kernel Boot Parameter for Testing" as discussed at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBootParameters to add the "nomodeset" parameter there. [20:56] Yeah, it doesn't really work, that's why I said alternate install would have made my life a lot easier... I could also use 18.04 but that's just. :/ [20:56] Let me see. [20:57] You can still set that when booting the live iso. [20:57] OK well I'll try that tomorrow with LTS version.
