OvenWrksEickmeyer: new controls05:36
EickmeyerOvenWrks: Yep, got the notification email as I'm heading off to bed. I upgraded to Impish earlier and I'll toss it in the repo in the morning.05:36
OvenWrksEickmeyer:  thanks05:45
OvenWrksEickmeyer: the new convert- was actually able to fix the bad config you pasted a week or so ago. it works on the better one too of course.15:45
OvenWrksEickmeyer: when you get to testing, do try to add your hdmi device as an extra device. That has been reported as a problem.15:47
EickmeyerOvenWrks: I'll give it a shot.15:47
OvenWrksI am hoping to be able to call this release :) It's not perfect but I have other things to do going into the summer so best to release now if nothing is broken15:50
studiobot<teward001> *cough* inb4 your release breaks something somehow *cough*15:51
studiobot<teward001> Just kidding ;)15:51
OvenWrksEickmeyer: do you happen to know if/when ubuntu is hoping to switch pulse to pipewire? Are they likely to use both for a while?15:52
EickmeyerOvenWrks: I don't know. That said, we can pretty much do what we want if we feel PW is ready for production.15:52
OvenWrksEickmeyer: I am guessing vanilla will add it first15:53
OvenWrksEickmeyer: I am more wonder when I will _have_ to deal with it :)15:53
OvenWrksIn controls 2.3 I hope to be able to detect what is in use and go with it.15:55
OvenWrksI may also detect Cadence and do things different if it is/has been in use.15:56
EickmeyerInteresting.15:57
EickmeyerNot a bad idea.15:57
OvenWrksThe main thing would be to query pulse to see if respawn is true (as we expect it) and if not start it rather than killing it and expecting a respawn15:58
* OvenWrks would rather not start deleting user's files :)15:59
OvenWrksArch users are already using PW and Arch has become the other (aside form debian/ubuntu) big audio platform. Redhat based stuff is too bleading edge to keep up.16:01
OvenWrksI may have to learn the PW codebase and alsa device development as well. I would like to add aes67 to the mix. There is already an aes67 alsa driver, but it does not create devices that will work with jack or ardour  :P  though it does seem to work with dante devices (which are the biggest market share of network audio right now)16:04
EickmeyerYep.16:11
OvenWrkskubuntu i won't install for me. manually select a partition, call ext4 mounted at / and it comes back formating failed... syslog has some words about trying to do something with a FAT partition? Downloading Studio i23:26
EickmeyerInteresting.23:42
EickmeyerRikMills: ^23:42
studiobot<teward001> @OvenWrks [<OvenWrks> kubuntu i won't install for me. manually select a partition, call ext …], did you make the EFI partition?23:51
studiobot<teward001> you still need the EFI partition i think or it barfs23:51
studiobot<teward001> (EFI is a fat partition)23:52
