melodiehi, can I talk about a series of bugs I found in Xubuntu? Just to see if it has affected other people11:39
melodieI sold a Dell Optiplex 3010 to a female client a few months ago and it was working just fine until this month, when the computer started to just shutdown. 11:40
melodieI had never seen such thing : the shutdown/reboot/logout/hibernate/sleep window would briefly appear followed by an instant shutdown. 11:41
Mekaneckmelodie: best to search launchpad for the bugs and if there aren't any open a bug report, that way others can tell if it affects them too.11:42
melodienothing I tried seemed to work : changed the power supply, tested the RAM on another machine, switched RAM, (DDR3 10600 1.35v vs same 1.5v)11:43
melodieMekaneck, there are several and I am not sure how I can search for them11:43
Mekanecksimply go to Manchpad and type it in the search field11:43
Mekanecksimple as that11:43
melodiewell summary after searching RAM, power supply I unplugged the hard drives and put one of mine with a fresh install : it was the same11:44
melodieMekaneck, what is Manchpad ?11:44
melodieI know Launchpad, not Munchpad ?11:44
Mekaneckerr... i meant Launchpad11:44
melodieManchpad, whatever?11:44
melodielol11:44
Mekanecktyped to quickly11:45
melodieok, will do, is there a chan dedicated to bugs in Xubuntu?11:45
Mekaneckno11:45
melodietoo bad11:45
Mekaneckas always, there's not much activity going on in the channels anyway11:46
Mekaneckhence i recommended searching on Launchpad ;)11:46
melodiesigh11:46
melodieok11:47
melodieit seems with "journalctl -r -p err" I might be able to find some of the same issues in my own computer11:47
melodieelse, how can I find if I have ACPI errors at boot if I don't do a dmesg right after boot? Is there another way, while the session has already started since a while?11:49
melodieI am looking in /var/log/kern.log now11:50
melodieMekaneck, I have posted on the Launchpad, and related to them bug reports ad #ubuntu-bugs12:43
melodiehttps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/176848812:43
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1768488 in lightdm (Ubuntu) "dependency problem lightdm -> pam" [Undecided, Confirmed]12:44
melodieI hope it will be assigned to someone, as it has been around since Ubuntu 18.04 it appears12:44
diogenes_melodie, does it happen on Xubuntu only?12:46
melodiehi diogenes_ it happens on all versions, but I have seen it first in a Xubuntu in a machine that was brought back to me. First thought : why would a machine using Xfce want to try to load kwallet lib that belongs to KDE? Just now I found the 3 bug reports on Lauchpad (which I pointed to each other as 2 are duplicates)12:49
melodieanyway more people knowing about it might make a difference and get us to have a dev taking care of it, isn't it right? (Hope I didn't bother, here?)12:49
zuninoI've just installed Xubuntu 21.04 and noticed the title bar on the "Settings application" is not affected by the style selected in "Window Manager".20:34
zuninoIs there a way to have those title bars look the same as the other applications?20:35
