[11:39] hi, can I talk about a series of bugs I found in Xubuntu? Just to see if it has affected other people [11:40] I sold a Dell Optiplex 3010 to a female client a few months ago and it was working just fine until this month, when the computer started to just shutdown. [11:41] I had never seen such thing : the shutdown/reboot/logout/hibernate/sleep window would briefly appear followed by an instant shutdown. [11:42] melodie: best to search launchpad for the bugs and if there aren't any open a bug report, that way others can tell if it affects them too. [11:43] nothing I tried seemed to work : changed the power supply, tested the RAM on another machine, switched RAM, (DDR3 10600 1.35v vs same 1.5v) [11:43] Mekaneck, there are several and I am not sure how I can search for them [11:43] simply go to Manchpad and type it in the search field [11:43] simple as that [11:44] well summary after searching RAM, power supply I unplugged the hard drives and put one of mine with a fresh install : it was the same [11:44] Mekaneck, what is Manchpad ? [11:44] I know Launchpad, not Munchpad ? [11:44] err... i meant Launchpad [11:44] Manchpad, whatever? [11:44] lol [11:45] typed to quickly [11:45] ok, will do, is there a chan dedicated to bugs in Xubuntu? [11:45] no [11:45] too bad [11:46] as always, there's not much activity going on in the channels anyway [11:46] hence i recommended searching on Launchpad ;) [11:46] sigh [11:47] ok [11:47] it seems with "journalctl -r -p err" I might be able to find some of the same issues in my own computer [11:49] else, how can I find if I have ACPI errors at boot if I don't do a dmesg right after boot? Is there another way, while the session has already started since a while? [11:50] I am looking in /var/log/kern.log now [12:43] Mekaneck, I have posted on the Launchpad, and related to them bug reports ad #ubuntu-bugs [12:43] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1768488 [12:44] Launchpad bug 1768488 in lightdm (Ubuntu) "dependency problem lightdm -> pam" [Undecided, Confirmed] [12:44] I hope it will be assigned to someone, as it has been around since Ubuntu 18.04 it appears [12:46] melodie, does it happen on Xubuntu only? [12:49] hi diogenes_ it happens on all versions, but I have seen it first in a Xubuntu in a machine that was brought back to me. First thought : why would a machine using Xfce want to try to load kwallet lib that belongs to KDE? Just now I found the 3 bug reports on Lauchpad (which I pointed to each other as 2 are duplicates) [12:49] anyway more people knowing about it might make a difference and get us to have a dev taking care of it, isn't it right? (Hope I didn't bother, here?) [20:34] I've just installed Xubuntu 21.04 and noticed the title bar on the "Settings application" is not affected by the style selected in "Window Manager". [20:35] Is there a way to have those title bars look the same as the other applications?
