BrythonLexi | Good evening! Would anyone happen to know how to get dual GPU fans running on Xubuntu? My GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER. `nvidia-settings` shows only one fan running at 0 RPM. Physically looking at my GPU shows one fan spinning, and the other not spinning at all. | 21:30 |
BrythonLexi | It isn't too big an issue, as my GPU'd idle temp is 34-37C | 21:30 |
krytarik | BrythonLexi: I'd be surprised if those fans would be software-controlled, but rather I suspect the one is just broken.. :3 | 21:41 |
BrythonLexi | I guess it could be the case it only runs under load, if the one that *isn't* detected by software is running at a good clip | 21:43 |
BrythonLexi | I really hope it isn't broken, given the GPU prices lately | 21:43 |
krytarik | Yeah, that also sounds sensible.. | 21:43 |
BrythonLexi | Okay, so it definitely is hardware controlled | 21:52 |
BrythonLexi | I booted up Arma 3 and played for a few minutes, and the fan went up to, at most, half speed | 21:52 |
BrythonLexi | Temps didn't exceed 55C either, for either CPU nor GPU | 21:52 |
krytarik | Ah, good! | 21:53 |
BrythonLexi | I guess that doesn't explain the GPU fan that isn't detected that runs at idle, but that's okay. Would love to see if I can get that one to be detected (I don't care about controlling it or not) | 21:53 |
krytarik | Maybe ask in #ubuntu too, since it's not specific to Xubuntu. | 21:54 |
BrythonLexi | That's fair, thank you! | 21:55 |
