It found 87 possible "threats. They are LibreOffice Macros. [20:05] xu-irc32w: false positive [20:05] and you don't need a anti virus on linux [20:07] I thought they might be since I recently installed the OS and didn't do much with LibreOffice. I've heard with Linux. I've also heard you do need it if you plan on sending files to people running Windows. The problem is everyone is running Windows. [20:16] xu-irc32w: you can maybe set things up so that only files you send to windows users will get scanned. but this depends on how you transfer them. [20:19] tomreyn Do you have a moment to explain what you mean by "this depends on how you transfer them." [20:19] xu-irc32w: how do you get those files you want to pass to windows users to them? [20:20] by email? through some form of file share? cloud storage? [20:20] some of those have virus-scanners built-in, so then you don't actually need to scan on your system [20:21] tomreyn: I would email them or use cloud storage. [20:23] xu-irc32w: so depending on how you email / which e-mail client and mail provider and cloud storage you use, they may have AV built-in [20:25] Ok. Sounds good.
