[00:20] g'night all \o === Nokaji_ is now known as Nokaji [11:38] happy Saturday all \o [11:39] hey daftykins [12:34] https://www.bisi.gg/listing/66647/labists-raspberry [12:34] if i'm understanding that correctly, it's a full kit including a Pi 4 for £20 :o [12:38] nice [12:38] no doubt a lower RAM edition but it still seems a good deal [12:50] suspect a few people bought 1gb versions when they meant to order 4-8gb versions [12:51] possible! i dropped 'em a text so we'll see if i get a response confirming the model [12:51] i've also spotted a flippable 2015 iMac, currently trying to lower their price xD [12:52] and for the first year or two after pi came out loads of people bought them and then had them sitting on a shelf doing nothing. loads been passed on via irc back then [12:52] rather masochistic of me to want to do another tin-opener job [12:52] you saw the 35million big macs sign in mcdonalds and have taken it as a personal challenge :-P [12:53] xD [12:53] the couple i worked at yesterday quite like their iMacs but run Windows - much to the chagrin of their daughter in England [12:54] thing is forcing them to learn another OS in their 80s is a bit harsh [12:54] cpm all the way :-) [12:55] just have to get the z80 up to 1ghz to browse the web :-P [13:06] woohoo i bid them down to £450 for a 21.5" 2015 iMac from their initial asking of £600 [13:08] what's wrong with it? [13:09] ...apart from it being the apple attempt at luggable computing :-P [13:19] well it's an HDD model so it'll need cracking open and upgrading [13:20] you'd think with the size of a 21 incher there'd be enough space to put in a massive drive bay you can get both hands into [13:24] well they did make them extremely shallow since around the 2011 models, since the edges are now capable of slicing cheese [13:24] person replied, the Pi had already sold! [13:25] plenty more pi in the sky [13:28] wow, check out comment #2 on this Techmoan vid about Sony's Video 8 format - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdObeF9VHiA [13:31] nice. but reading comments on youtube?! you like to live dangerously :-P [13:32] :D [13:32] usually the top few are ok now [13:32] at least on the wholesome content i tend to enjoy! [13:32] i still think the discman could be a useful superfloppy if marketed right [13:33] sony makes the most beautiful hardware and then ruins them with software [13:35] and proprietary interfaces! [14:01] and memory standars [14:02] have you heard about Ken Williams return to game dev? [14:14] interesting. will be interesting to see how his style translates into a modern game [14:21] daftykins: Ooh matron? [14:22] hehe, nah i think he long since passed away - this Ken and his wife were behind Sierra online === m0nkey__ is now known as m0nkey_ [15:48] Say hello to Microsoft Linux .. https://github.com/microsoft/CBL-Mariner [15:57] heh, not the first i imagine [16:28] MS use CBL-* as a prefix for several Linux distributions for specific purposes [16:36] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YbBpAfFRks - livestream from Dr. Ian Cutress of Anandtech [16:48] ooooh there's a lovely cool breeze coming through my place right now, feels good :D [16:52] I'm not jelly [16:54] A/C baby yeah [17:27] glad to not need it [18:03] northern ireland recorded it's hottest ever temp. 31c [18:04] o0 [18:04] it's a rock sitting in north atlantic. takes a lot to heat it up :-) [18:18] you need A/C here.. during the summer easily 30C+ and winter will drop down to below -30C [18:33] oh i'm sure, so glad for the island's tame climate [18:33] although 90% humidity accompanies 20-25 deg C [18:34] the cat has been given fish in jelly, that'll keep her busy for ~5 minutes ;) [18:34] get her a rubiks cube, will keep her out of your hair for days :-P [18:38] :)
