[15:54] Previously , on Intel graphics, VGA-a output monitor, could only diskplay 1024x768 . now it displays nothing upon logging in.. [18:09] nikolam, details [18:10] Hi diogenes_ Now this particular user can't be set to display anything on VGA out. Other user can.. [18:12] When I select resolution either in xorg.conf or in ~/.xprofile, resolution used to show but could not be set. I could only set it temporarily with xrandr and after that not even with it. [18:12] But when selecting in Display settings in Xfce it could not be forced. [18:13] nikolam, first check if this user has session save enabled, if it has then disable it, rm ~/.cache/sessions/* then relog and see if that helps, if not then rename ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/displays.xml [18:13] Seems like VGA out on motherboard (HP 600G1 twr , i5 4570) can not receive Philips monitor settings information over the VGA port [18:16] ok diogenes_ let me re-login to try it out again [18:18] diogenes_, after doing rm ~/.cache/sessions/* , second display again displays picture even in only 1024X768 [18:19] Automatically saving session on logout is turned off [18:21] I'll try with ~/.xprofile if new resolution will show in Display settings and if I can switch to it [18:24] and no, again I can not select resolution in Display settings, it reverts back to 1024X768 === sorinello_ is now known as sorinello === sorinello_ is now known as sorinello === BuckarooBanzai4 is now known as BuckarooBanzai
