IrcsomeBot | <blinkengine> I noticed it fails to copy files in bulk | 05:41 |
IrcsomeBot | <Tshering1980> This may also happen when the smartphone sometimes goes into hibernation mode and becomes auto locked | 06:27 |

TJ- | what's the hotkey to access an application's Window menu? | 16:30 |
TJ- | conventionaly it was Alt+space but that's bringing up a search bar | 16:31 |
tomreyn | it's alt+space in gnome-land | 18:12 |
=== ubuntu is now known as Guest7095 | ||
genii | TJ-: Alt+F3 seems to work | 18:15 |
TJ- | genii: yeah; someone pointed me to that in #ubuntu but it's hardly discoverable! And none of the menus on Konsole, for example, have accelerator keys to get to those menus | 18:16 |
genii | Yes, it's somewhat annoying | 18:16 |
TJ- | not great for accessibility :( | 18:17 |
genii | TJ-: Settings... Configure Konsole ... General tab seems to have a checkbox for enable/disable | 18:21 |
genii | ( menu accelerators functionality) | 18:21 |
genii | Yep, that works | 18:22 |
genii | ( here on my 18.04 anyhow) | 18:23 |
TJ- | let's see if I can get there with the keyboard! | 18:23 |
TJ- | got 21.04 Live here right now | 18:23 |
TJ- | If you mean Konsole's own top-menu, can't see how to get there | 18:24 |
genii | CTRL + Shift + , | 18:25 |
genii | ( for the settings) | 18:26 |
TJ- | thanks. shame they're so cryptic. Can't see a way to get to the network configuration applet, or other 'taskbar' tools either. Good job there's nmcli and bluetoothctl ! | 18:30 |
TJ- | Looks like IPv6 is broken, via NetworkManager. resolvectl doesn't show the RA-announced DNS server being added so no name resolution. | 18:51 |
alkisg | TJ-: I didn't read the whole conversation, you don't have mouse? Just apt install x11vnc; x11vnc -connect nearby-pc-ip, where you have xvnc4viewer -listen running :) | 19:13 |
TJ- | alkisg: if it had network that might be viable | 19:45 |
TJ- | Looks like this could be a bug, either kernel or NetworkManager. Enabled NM's TRACE logging for ETHER,IP6,SYSTEMD combined with tcpdump -vvv icmp6 and seeing the RA with 1 router, 2 prefixes, 2 routes, and the RDNSS... NM TRACE shows ndisc for the router, 2 prefixes and 2 routes but doesn't report the RDNSS. Either NM is ignoring it for some reason, or else kernel isn't passing it to userspace | 20:12 |
TJ- | (which infers kernel misconfiguration) | 20:12 |
TJ- | OK, turns out that's not the issue - the problem is the router is setting lifetime 0 on that option 25 RDNSS - router is systemd-networkd v247. Turns out even with EmitDNS=yes and DNS=$address DNSLifetimeSec= defaults to 0 unless set specifically. | 20:23 |
