[01:02] <Nick78> I can download and install ok...the first time...versions 18.04, 20.04.2 and 20.04.3, and 21.04.  Errors I get once installed is that it won't reboot, shutdown or cold boot properly.  Is constantly going into a sleep

[01:03] <Nick78> From the Recovery menu, if I go into System Summary is says my Physical Volume is Bad.
[01:04] <Nick78> Volume Groups are OK.
[01:04] <kc2bez> Ah, ok. It might be good to boot from a live iso and run a fsck on the disk just to make sure things are ok. 
[01:04] <Nick78> fsck will not run from the Recovery menu.  I think it ran clean when I tried it from the USB drive.

[01:06] <Nick78> I've seen 2 different logon screens at times...the usual blue 20.04 screen, but another red and black logon screen at times.

[01:08] <Nick78> The blue always showed up first.  When coming out of sleep or suspend mode, occasionally it would go to this red/black screen.
[01:08] <kc2bez> As far as suspend, have you tried disabling the power management and screensaver?
[01:08] <Nick78> Only thru configuration manager.

[01:13] <kc2bez> The other thing that comes to mind is temperature. Sometimes that can cause things to go south especially under load. 
[01:14] <Nick78> It does seem to run a bit hot...and may 'act' better after sitting overnight.  I will see what happens tomorrow morning.  
[01:15] <Nick78> At one time I had a widget or something telling me it was up to 120 degrees..
[01:15] <kc2bez> that is hot enough to cause a shutdown. 
[01:16] <Nick78> Will Lubuntu not shut down automatically when too hot?

[11:45] <Nick78> 1.  After a clean install I see my Physical Volume is still not OK (BAD) from the System-Summary report during a recovery session.
[11:46] <Nick78> 2.  After a clean install, I go into Discover and it immediately reports the metadata checksum is incorrect.
[11:46] <Nick78> Are these 2 things normal after a fresh install?
[11:47] <Nick78> My problem right now is I have to press the power button several times before getting a desktop to come up.
[11:47] <Nick78> I have changed in Power Management to either do nothing or perform a shutdown if battery is low or when I close the lid.

[11:49] <Nick78> I even get 2 different logon screens during bootup.,.the typical Lubuntu 20.04 purple/blue screen...then later on after waking it up, I get a Red/Black Flame login screen.
