embyI fixed them00:25
embyI used a 'manual pin' of 000000:26

m_tadeuhi...I have a lenovo thinkcentre and since kernel 5.4.0-40 I can't boot properly...I get the kubuntu boot screen and that's it...seems to boot until X, but the graphics part won't start08:26
diogenes_m_tadeu: try nomodset08:53
diogenes_!nomodeset08:53
ubottuSystems with certain graphics chipsets may not boot properly out of the box. "Temporarily Add a Kernel Boot Parameter for Testing" as discussed at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBootParameters to add the "nomodeset" parameter there.08:53
diogenes_Also from my own experience i wouldn't recommend Lenovo for Linux.08:54
m_tadeudiogenes_: thanx...trying that...what is Lenovo for Linux? can't find anything about it08:59
diogenes_I mean Lenovo computers are very unfriendly when it comes to run Linux.09:01
m_tadeuyeah seems so09:04
alkisgLenovo has committed to provide upstream Linux support for some of their laptops: https://www.linux-magazine.com/Online/News/Lenovo-Upping-Their-Linux-Support09:07
alkisg"The entire line of Lenovo workstations (minus the IdeaPad) will now be fully certified to work with Linux."09:07
m_tadeualkisg: well not this one :) well it's a desktop anyways09:12
m_tadeudiogenes_: X managed to start....now I have no sound...any ideas?09:13
diogenes_alkisg: after superish malware i no longer trust Lenovo, also it's worth mentioning the uefi bug which used to brick your PC only if you install Linux, also Lenovo tablets with 64 bit processor but ironically 32 bit uefi that you can't install any Linux there but only windows, with poor built quality and also my own experience of installing Linux on hundreds pcs, lenovo was the only brand Which gave the most headache, either sound not working, or mic09:18
diogenes_or cam etc. So i will never recommend any Lenovo to run Linux on.09:18
diogenes_m_tadeu: try to remove pipewire.09:20
diogenes_And install pulseaudio if it's not there.09:20
m_tadeudiogenes_: didn't help, unfortunatelly09:26
diogenes_m_tadeu: did you reboot.?09:27
m_tadeuyup09:27
diogenes_Then run pavucontrol and see what options you got there.09:28
m_tadeuin the devices, I only have dummy output09:30
m_tadeuconnecting my headset doesn't change anything09:33
diogenes_m_tadeu: run: (if i recall correctly) inxi -A09:35
diogenes_Or -S09:35
diogenes_Sorry I'm not on my PC now so can't test.09:36
m_tadeuinxi -A --> Audio:     Device-1: Intel Cannon Lake PCH cAVS driver: N/A09:36
m_tadeuhmm didn't know inxi09:39
diogenes_m_tadeu: try this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Lenovo_ThinkPad_X1_Carbon_(Gen_7)#Audio09:41
diogenes_Again ppl having troubles with Lenovo.09:41
m_tadeuyup09:41
diogenes_Rather this https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Advanced_Linux_Sound_Architecture#ALSA_firmware09:42
m_tadeudiogenes_: I don't know what to do about it....and alsamixer is giving me this "cannot open mixer: No such file or directory"...trying to figure this out09:51
diogenes_m_tadeu: run: dmesg l grep -i firmware l nc termbin.com 999909:53
diogenes_Share the url09:53
diogenes_| instead f l09:54
m_tadeudiogenes_: https://termbin.com/vwg109:55
m_tadeuyeah I figured09:55
m_tadeusnd_hda_intel.dmic_detect=0 is set on boot09:56
diogenes_I don't know what that boot option mean better remove it, run: cat  /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf | nc termbin.com 999909:59
m_tadeuhttps://termbin.com/r1xc10:00
diogenes_Run: sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and at the end add: options snd-hda-intel model=clevo10:06
diogenes_Save and reboot.10:07

m_tadeuand the graphics driver seems to be fbdev :/10:22
diogenes_Ok if you want we could try the xanmod kernel.10:27
briannaHolaa10:38
briannasoy nueva10:38
m_tadeudiogenes_: complains about a bad signature10:44
diogenes_m_tadeu: what exactly you're doing.10:45
m_tadeuinstalled the xanmod kernel10:45
diogenes_First you need to undo all the changes that we made, remove the line from alsa conf, remove nomodeset and any other manual option.10:47
diogenes_Also i forgot to ask is secure boot is enabled then disable it.10:48
m_tadeunomodeset is not applied in the xanmod kernel10:48
m_tadeusecure boot?10:48
diogenes_Nomodeset is set in /etc/default/grub so check if it's in there and for secure boot you have to look in BIOS10:50
m_tadeunah...I set nomodeset only for the latest kernel line10:51
