[12:08] hmm stand corrected, the strange-unresponsive-mode has returned, twice in one day :( [12:25] Hi everyone, I am using xubuntu 20.04.3 with xfce 4.14 on a recent 5.11 kernel. After my PC wakes from sleep or hibernation it sometimes (seemingly after longer sleep or hibernation) does not show the desktop again. I have to change to another terminal and then back to terminal 7 for it to show again. I tried to deactivate all screensavers and [12:25] locks I could find. I googled for it, but I am not sure I know the correct terminology to find good results. Any hints? [12:27] Additionally, when I go to shut down the PC via the action button menu, it sometimes takes two times of click "Shutdown" on the menu and confirming the dialuoge for the PC to actually shutdown (same goes for sleep or hibernation). [12:27] Would it be more prudent to take this of a board? [13:11] hi ! anyone speak russian ? [13:12] -_- [13:15] xu-irc8w, no but there is an #ubuntu-ru channel perhaps? [13:16] 10 users entered onyl though [13:16] *only [13:21] who install ubuntu and other distro on MSI GE66 Raider ? [13:56] hey all [13:57] i love xubuntu 20.04 [13:57] i have had a lot of probs with 21.04 [14:59] sophie: Did you upgrade to 21.04 or make a fresh install? [15:00] derdritte: With cases like this... I would really wonder if it makes sense to investigate it [15:01] in my experience, you run into endless debugging where you spend easily 1000 time sthe time that you spend in clicking Ctrl+Alt+F1, Ctrl+Alt+F7 [15:05] i made a fresh install [15:05] there is some confusion over the sys tray icons [15:06] some dont show, some so twice (like the wifi) [15:06] and then late down the line plugging in my headphone lead broke pulseaudio server [15:07] 20.04 lts seems rock stable still [15:07] im not good enough to investigate, only report what i saw over 3 months [15:08] all my pcs run 20.04 xubuntu and it super solid [15:09] sophie: The wifi icon showing twice could be that you just have it activated twice, once in this... status bar or what it's called [15:09] sophie: Which ones are not showing up? [15:09] discord [15:09] zoiper [15:09] singal shows ok [15:09] *signal [15:22] gnrp: I agree, it is more a tick than optimizing for time :) [16:55] i hope 22.04 solves it all [16:56] but im not looking to upgrade now till the security updates end [17:31] Just upgraded 20.10 -> 21.04 and the default font changed to Noto Sans Regular. Anyone know what the old default font was? I don't like all websites looking different... [18:10] sim642: https://github.com/Xubuntu/xubuntu-default-settings/commit/08c4dc9b863c45055fc3644807ffed4a2f869282 - on the default settings side there was no change since then, but could be the font itself has changed slightly or the rendering of it. [18:10] Commit 08c4dc9 in Xubuntu/xubuntu-default-settings "Update font to Noto Sans" [18:11] I guess I had customized it and the upgrade wrecked my customization then [18:12] Where is this value stored so I can look it up in some backup [18:13] The user-specific one in '~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xsettings.xml' [18:23] Actually maybe the default font didn't change after all, but the upgrade of firefox to 92 added support for system-ui font, which previously was skipped [20:13] i noticed numix no longer turns the current window bar blue in the task bar [20:13] i really liked that
