[15:00] Good morning. How do I go about installing lubuntu as a server without the desktop environment? We're trying to create appliance-like VMs and don't need all of that stuff. None of the ISOs I have found so far do anything other than install a desktop environment. [15:03] I'm RDP'd into an lubuntu machine (Windows RDP client). The screen is locked, which is as it should be. However, I cannot get it to accept keyboard input into the password field. I could ssh in and reboot as I don't have apps running, but I'd prefer figure out what's wrong. [15:04] version is Lubuntu 20.04.3 LTS === genii-core is now known as genii [15:13] [telegram] If you want it without desktop, you'd better install Ubuntu server [15:26] I can click OK, but keyboard input is ignored on the lock screen when connected via RDP. The RDP server is xrdp. Any ideas? [15:37] [telegram] is your target Windows? [15:37] [telegram] oh wait xrdp nvm [15:38] [telegram] i've never gotten xrdp to behave from a Windows client, just an FYI. Lubuntu or otherwise. [16:00] lubot_, OK. I'll sign in from a non-windows client. Thanks! [16:00] Normally xrdp works OK, but it's having the heebie jeebies on that sign in screen.' [16:03] Same issue from RDClient on Android. Will try Remmina on Linux on my lunch break when I can boot over to linux. [17:34] lubot_, Ok, tried it from Remmina client in Ubuntu. Same thing. I just killed that session. I'll set the lock to not require a password. === genii is now known as genii-core
