Guest99Hello. I am currently running Kubuntu 21.10 Beta and I have an issue with Discover that I'd like to report in hopes that it will be fixed in time of the final release. - it won't install regular packages or check for updates but it install snaps just fine.03:31
Guest99Discover is unable to install any packages returning the error "no network connection available" although I have both wireless and ethernet connection enabled.03:31
Guest99It also cannot check for updates displaying the message at startup "cannot refresh cache whilst offline".03:32
Guest99I found this related bug report https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412834 and also this https://github.com/PackageKit/PackageKit/issues/336 seems like someone is working on a patch for PackageKit addressing this issue03:34
ubottuKDE bug 412834 in Discover "'Cannot refresh cache whilst offline' -- except I'm online." [Normal, Resolved: Upstream]03:34
ubottuIssue 336 in PackageKit/PackageKit "Network Manager unmanaged interface causes packagekit to conclude its off-line incorrectly" [Closed]03:34
Guest99But is there any workaround currently?03:34
clickwirJust upgraded from Kubuntu 21.04 to 21.10beta, worked flawless. Firefox was not replaced by a snap, so that's great.05:36
Mekaneckclickwir: because only main Ubuntu ship FF as snap, flavors aren't affected05:58
Mekaneckat least that's what i heard05:58
TJ-Firefox isn't a snap; built and depends on host packages06:01
IrcsomeBot<RikMills> 21.10 will not ship with the Firefox snap. the native .deb package from the main ubuntu apt archive will be used06:23

MrMatthijsSorry, i was trying to find reactions to my comment06:57
MrMatthijsNo responses so far, i'll try once more before hitting the forums. Does anyone here know how to change the behaviour for selecting text in textboxes? it seems to differ from mac/windows and its driving me insane.06:59
MrMatthijshttps://gifyu.com/image/P4Kr07:02
MrMatthijsI think i move my mouse up right before releasing it (might be due to high dpi), doing so basically inverts my selection right before i start typing. this causes me to delete/overwrite the part of a text that i wanted to keep.07:06
=== aredondas is now known as LAguilon
MrMatthijsIt keeps happening to me in FF, but it does not happen in chrome. Its not a FF related feature though, since it also happens in other places (e.g. Keyboard Settings, Konversation IRC, slack)07:09

icicis anyone else having issues with running kubuntu on a msi mag z490 tomahawk motherboard? the rear I/O ports stop working when i select any other headers other than 5.4 from the grub menu.08:56
icicthere's still some issues even after selecting 5.4, the audio ports don't work but i'm guess that's a separate issue altogether08:57

jwisbell35Is there a reason Discover would show no internet connection when trying to install a package? Clean install fully updated.15:49
jayanhi16:03
jayannot sure how to use private messaging on this, can someone help?16:03
mparilloYou should be able to use SSL connections, but the channel is logged anyway.16:38
gob_beldofHey, I just invested in a pair of expensive Bluetooth headphones (Sony WH-1000XM4s). After spending some time configuring, I am sad to find that there is no possible way to have high quality audio input/output simultaneously in HFS mode. A2DP mode does not support mic. Is this a limitation of Bluetooth or Kubuntu/Linux drivers?16:44
TJ-gob_beldof: generally its due to the choice of codecs in the device not matching what is supported in the version of the bluez stack on Linux17:26
TJ-gob_beldof: in some cases also may be related to alsa/pulsaudio<>bluez integration17:27

Dragnslcronurcan19772- what exactly do you need? Kubuntu can use pretty much anything that connects with HDMI as a display.20:14
onurcan19772I plugged my hdmi cable today but the tv didn't get a signal. Tv model was shown at display settings.20:35
