ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> Hi there! Did anyone encounter problems with zombie processes so far? I've updated my OS with update-manager -d and now I unable to exit some processes, e.g.:15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> ps -ef | grep defunct15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> rb         28787    3173  0 16:10 ?        00:00:02 [code] <defunct>15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> rb         28807   28787  0 16:10 ?        00:00:00 [code] <defunct>15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> rb         28816    3173  0 16:10 ?        00:00:00 [code] <defunct>15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> rb         76359   27798  0 18:23 pts/0    00:00:00 [node] <defunct>15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> And parent process here is, basically systemd: 15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> ps -ef | grep 3173   15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> rb          3173       1  0 11:38 ?        00:00:00 /lib/systemd/systemd --user15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> (or systemd  β†’ gnome-terminal β†’  zsh β†’  node <defunct>) 15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> And this doesn't seems to be a problem specific to VSCode or Node, since I have Firefox, Telegram or rg (whatever that is) also in that list from time to time.15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> This also seem to prevent system from being able to suspend.15:45
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <teward001> you sure those ZOmbie processes are in fact zombies and not programs that're just broken?  I ask because Proton-based applications are still a bit broke right now in the current devel release (Impish) due to glibc things, last I checked15:47
Eickmeyer@rombek All Electron apps are broken currently, as stated in the release notes which refer to this bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/194446815:48
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <teward001> ^^ that, so it might be related15:48
EickmeyerIt's work-in-progress currently. Likely to be fixed before release. The Ubuntu Foundations Team is currently working on it.15:49
EickmeyerThe biggest problem with even a slight change in glibc is that *everything* uses it, so they have to be 100% sure it won't break anything.15:50
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> Hmm... Indeed may be related (further reading needed). That node process is not related to Electron, however, Electron runs node under the hood, AFAIK, so maybe.16:03
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <rombek> Will look into that bug-report, thanks!16:03
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <kc2bez> Thanks for testing! (re @rombek: Will look into that bug-report, thanks!)16:07
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <ItzSwirlz> Firefox seems fine on UCR16:53
ubuntubridgebot_[telegram] <ItzSwirlz> Same for telegram but it’s just on live session16:53
ItzSwirlzSo the UCR issue is probably Ubiquity. By default in the boot of the live ISO, where ubiquity is, there is no background for some reason, so I'll have to look at configurations. Second, I need to customize ubiquity to remove the slideshow, make ubuntu -> ubuntu cinnamon remix + fix icons22:45
ItzSwirlzOh, and also the desktop-logoff sound hasn't been added in Yaru yet, hopefully that'll get updated22:46
ItzSwirlzAndddd the sound commit wasn't put in changelog. Figures.22:48
